Received this email on Friday 22 May.
It gives us great pleasure to let you know the refund due to you will be processed during next week. We acknowledge and apologise this comes to you much later than it should
Still haven't got it or heard any more from them.
I got the same message at the beginning of last week ... money was back on the credit card a few days later.
Not sure what you can do as they seem to be impossible to contact directly.- has anybody tried recently?

    Did you get your refund?
Just before the virus I booked 5 holidays with TR.
They sent me emails and said all 5 were cancelled and I would be getting a refund.
Last month they sent me 2 emails to say the first 2 were not cancelled as I stayed in the hotel, which I did not.
Last week I got a refund for the 3rd holiday, and next week will be getting a refund for the 4th booking.
Don't understand why they are not giving me a refund for the first two.
I have written to them a few times on Customer Support Request but they are not answering.
    Hope you got your refund.

  • TR ignoring my correspondence regards flight only booking

I had flights only booked with TR who have cancelled them. They initially stated that would claim my money back from the airline (Virgin) and the. Look at refunding me. I am led to believe that the airlines do not take any money until the flight has been used. I am currently into this (made contact with the airline)
TR would not respond to 7 messages I sent over a 12 week period. Due to this I have now contacted American Express who are requesting a chargeback. Surprisingly this has prompted a response from TR now stating that nothing will be done until the result of American Express claim on my behalf. Keep at them and look into every avenue as I do truly believe they are just trying delay tactics
  • Hi Everyone, some advice would be greatly appreciated. I booked a holiday with Travel Republic - 25th July going to Dubai for 10 days. I booked this in September 2019 and paid a credit card deposit of £1800. I booked flights and hotel in one transaction. Obviously since Covid things have been up in the air and we had decided that with the restrictions they have in Dubai with regards to having a covid test and the fact things remain closed, we decided to try and amend the holiday to later in 2020 or even 2021. I emailed TR (as phones lines were closed and remain so) on the 4th May, raised a customer support case and explained I wanted to amend my dates. I had a little dialogue with them, looking at alternative dates, I responded with  a request for them to look at 'x' hotel on 'x' date and I had no response. Two months later, I still have had no response. I must've sent 15 emails asking them to respond, contacted them on Twitter - nothing. I have had a generic 'Dear customer' email stating that they are getting in touch with people regarding their holiday two weeks before their due departure date. However, two weeks before my departure date is when they are due to take the balance which is a hefty amount. I really don;t want to pay them that balance but if I don't I am worried I will be in breach of my obligations? To add to this; it appears that my BA flights that I booked in the transaction aren't flying on that date anymore and I can;t fly any other day as I have work either side. I am not sure what to do. Do I pay the balance hoping that they will offer a refund? if I don't pay the balance will I be in breach and therefore lose my deposit. Surely if the flights aren't running then that the means the holiday can't happen right? Am i best to get in touch with the hotel directly to understand what their cancellation policy is? Sorry loads of questions, all help appreciated. Thanks.
  • We have a holiday booked for this summer and Travel Republic have sent the message below. We are worried that if we could accept they could simply say our flights are cancelled and make us pay more or leave us stranded abroad. Any advice on what we can do please?
Keep your holiday as it is and continue to travel as planned

    • It is common for airline and hotel suppliers to amend their schedules or inform us of changes, but rest assured if your holiday is impacted by any changes then we will work with you to find a suitable alternative.

    • When going on holiday you agree to the Customer Covid-19 waiver as detailed below;

    • I acknowledge that, owing to the Coronavirus outbreak, Travel Republic has made me aware that the products, services and facilities included in my booking may be subject to short notice change, closure, intermittent availability and additional measures (including cleaning, enhanced health screening procedures and social distancing). I confirm that I accept any changes to my booking arising from the same, and release Travel Republic, its suppliers, agents and group companies from any liability to me or anyone travelling on the booking in respect of such changes.

I booked a hotel with TR in March for 29 July and paid the low deposit of 5 pounds.
It said free cancellation or amendments until 22 July.
I cancelled the holiday and they have just sent me an email to say I will have to pay 40 pounds cancellation fee.
They said free cancellation until 22 July.

Got an email to say they were wrong and I would not be charged 40 pounds.
Also I am getting my 5 pounds deposit back.
