I've just come up against the government's direction to shops to limit customers to 3 of an item.
I wanted 4 Bramley apples but could only have 3. If I'd wanted Golden delicious I could have had 12 because they are in packs of 4 but Bramleys are sold individually.

Similar here. A friend offered to get me things from her Tesco online shop. I could have had 3 baked potatoes but not 4 - but I could have had a whole packet of ordinary potatoes.

That's the daft thing with the multi-packs, especially of loo roll.    It's a shame they weren't able to stop selling 24/48 roll packs, and instead split them into 2's or 4's and THEN limit how many you could buy.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)
