Oh really!! They seem to be requesting all up to date statements from me which is really hard work. I’d much rather collate a list of all the info for them xdoglover34 said:
Yes I did, we consolidated a lot of debt! Just make sure you give your solicitor a full list of the creditors that need to be paid, the account number, the bank details of the settlement amount and the settlement amounts. As soon as you get a completion date, contact all of the creditors being paid back and get them to calculate the settlement balance as of the date of completion. Your solicitor will do the rest - good luck! It was straight forward for us and the solicitor appreciated our help in getting all the settlement figurers.afreshstart86 said:hiya, has anyone had a term in their mortgage offer thar “upon completion the following debts must be paid by the solicitor” if you have, was it quite a straight forward process with the solicitor?0 -
Yeah I had to do statements the month of completion and settlement letters ... was a bit of work but saved sooo much time xxafreshstart86 said:

Hi All
I have watched this forum for 2 months now and has got me through we finally got mortgage offer today. Our MB is amazing and would recommend them to anyone in Scotland. We fist applied on the 21/6/22 and after a few requests for various documents all passed. We are so excited and cannot wait to move, our 2 little girls are so excited. We just got an offer on our house last night so we are good to go. For anyone waiting hang on you will get there in the end and will be so worth it.1 -
Hi All, We are due to complete on Friday (9th). Does anyone know what date they take the first mortgage payment? The lady on the pre-completion call told me the amount our first payment will be which is just over half our total monthly payment. Will it be on the 1st of October?0

We completed 29th April and our first payment was 1st June so I would presume yours will be 1st October.afreshstart86 said:Hi All, We are due to complete on Friday (9th). My giftor has to seek independent legal advice too. They have been to the solicitors and they told them it was very bizarre and they’ve never seen anything like it. So now I’m worried they won’t be able to get independent legal advice.Kb21 said:
No that’s wasn’t a condition in mine but my giftor had to seek independent legal adviceCosy2020 said:That’s so late! Hopefully there’s a cancellation and you can get your valuation in sooner. Is it a physical valuation? To anyone who had a gifted deposit condition on their offer, did you have to supply an up to date proof of funds from the giftor to your solicitor? I’ve got one from last month but the giftor is on holiday until July 😂😩0 -

They just run through the amount you are borrowing, APR, check you've paid the arrangement fee and see if there's been any changes to your circumstances.
When youve completed, they write to you and also call to confirm payment details etc.
Nothing to worry about either call and the staff are down to earth.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
