I second that, enjoy the feeling when you get the mortgage offer but do not take your eye off the ball.mortgagetakingages said:
Its one less step to deal with and a big one at that so don't let me take away from that feeling of accomplishment but just be aware there are still more things to come. I'm waiting for Authority to exchange currently. 2 weeks and waitingToyo_86 said:
Oh yes thats true. At the moment it feels like everything else will be easier relative to the hassles of the mortgage application.mortgagetakingages said:
Depending on if you are using help to buy you will have another 15+ days to wait and also dependent on your deposit you may need to satisfy more requirements to complete (solvency declaration) and then you need to go through the usual exchange completion process.Toyo_86 said:

There was an error in the address on our mortgage offer which I flagged at the beginning of August and requested for it to be ammended so it didn't cause delays with HTB. Bluestone refused to update it saying it wouldn't cause a problem. Anyway, our application for ATE was submitted when the wait for agent 3 was 18 working days and surprise surprise, the application was rejected due to that very error I had flagged 6 weeks earlier!! Our solicitor forwarded the email rejection from HTB to Bluestone with us copied in and they STILL refused to update it, effectively making it impossible for us to purchase the house! Unfortunately this wasn't the only problem we experienced with them so it was escalated by our MA, and the head of the department at Bluestone agreed to amend the address but told us that they had to reassess our application in order to do so!! To add to that, the wait for ATE is now 21 days.
They may be last chance saloon for most of us but I am already sick to the back teeth of being treated like a second class citizen and being made to jump through quite unreasonable hoops because of it. Asking for additional documents and explanations is "being thorough because we have adverse credit" which is quite reasonable... refusing to enable us to move forward with the purchase by issuing incorrect documentation and accusing us of lying about clearing debts (after mortgage offer), even when the accounts have been reported as closed on our credit files is just completely unreasonable!
Good luck everyone, I can only hope that your experience is more favourable than ours.

It's great to read all the comments on this thread, we have been mucked about terribly by another company, our case is now with Bluestone, dreading losing the house we want! Fingers crossed we get an offer.
Very impressed so far with Simply Adverse, completed the first set of documentation on the 24th September we then moved to pre-underwriting on the 28th and onto a Senior Case Manager who submitted our application on the 30th and we have been moved to an Underwriter within Bluestone today. I just hope for a positive result. We were given a DIP by Bluestone back in August but chose to go with another company (bad decision), prior to the DIP Simply managed to get our case looked at and improved as an exception within 24 hours because we want to borrow over £500k.0 -
Thanks Rickey, I could not believe it myself. I was decline by 2 lenders before Bluestone. Simply handled my case as well. So grateful.Rickydewitt said:

Regardless of what you may have been told, there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel as I almost gave up after being turned down twice. To God be the glory.0 -
Well I know it’s with the underwriter as I checked my credit report and a hard search has been done. I only had a few questions from bluestone which I answered and my Broker passed back to them. I’m hoping to hear something today.ryannnnnn said:@Rickydewitt

It’s definitely a long process, I take it you’ve gone for 75% ltv? I just want a valuation date now lol, that would in-still faith in the estate agent I think although they’ve been good so far and let us to it.mortgagenews said:

When was your hard search done?
I've had no hard searches on my report and I keep asking my ma whats going on and all I get from him is, ill here something in the next 24 to 48 hours. He has been saying this for 2 weeks.
