I have my mortgage offer through today by email and I have been asked by my MA if I have been contacted by my solicitor I went through TFC do I have to get a solicitor, or is one provided I have signed a form instructing a solicitor they use, has anybody got to this stage and what are the next steps? I am concerned as the offer says you have 10 days but I have not received the original documents only the email.
Congratulations and yes you need to instruct a solicitor who will act on your and bluestone behalf

I have completed a form to use the one that was in the application pack so I’m a bit confused now as thought this was all included with TFC I know I will have to pay for the solicitor but it’s not clear.

Do you have a contact for that solicitor? If not I would ask your MA as they should know if it’s someone TFC use as they are dealing with them. Was your valuation a desktop one with it being a remortgage? We are a remortgage and waiting to see if they are going to instruct valuation or not yet ...

Really happy for you 🙌🙌🙌🙌  has it been long since valuation?
No valuation was Thursday last week and was offered last Friday, documents emailed today but was dated 14th so very quick
Seems if you can get to valuation stage it’s quite quick after that

No it was not a desktop it was a full valuation. I will speak to my MA tomorrow as far as I was aware I signed the form to instruct the solicitors TFC use. It’s been a long process

We are first time buyers and they did a desktop valuation for us on the 1st September and we got the offer the same day literally within a few hours! Hope this helps ☺️
  • I'm still waiting for the underwriters from application going in 23 Aug... they keep asking for more, wait a few days.. then more, wait etc etc! Im beginning to think we may not get to valuation stage :( but then they are still trying as well as my MA which must be a good sign right?!? They haven't given up. Getting more worried and stressed by the day. The last query was an account we put cash in following a sale of some of our gym equipment which at the time we didn't think about.. no receipt or proof of sale etc etc so thats holding us up. Our ma at simply thinks there may be a way round it but isn't sure what that is yet!! Its driving me nuts 😒
  • oh and my solicited has already instructed searches (it was a solicitor which simply use) so I'm not sure if they are on bluestones panel of solicitors.. and why they've ordered searches without having a morgage offer
