I've been following this tread for a few weeks.  Theres some alarming stories to say the least.  We had our DIP 31st March and application 10/4.  We did have requests for a few more documents following long stretches of hearing nothing and then on Thursday found out it's now with the underwriters.  Still no Valuation and hard search hasn't registered yet but obviously this could have been carried out.  I'm trying to work out what timeframe the underwriters take?
The valuation has to be requested by the underwriters which then informers you that they are happy to proceed with the application. Your can request it earlier but as it’s non refundable you do so at your own risk if it’s decline for any reason you lose the money. Underwriters are currently working at 12 working days and If any other docs are requesting (which they probably will be) then it could need 12 working days push back. But everyone is very different so just try and keep calm

Thank you. You're comments are reassuring. i'm now being told i will have an update by wednesday.  To be fair my Broker is pretty good and he did say from the outset that this would probably be 5-6 week process so i'm not overly concerned as yet, i just don't like waiting. haha.
  • How many questions can the pre-underwriters ask? 🤣 My mum and mother in law are always putting money into my account for our children for pocket money or to buy them clothes etc. I feel like we’ve done something wrong 🤣

Trust me the questions and docs get worse 😂.

After being asked for further docs in early April that were provided almost instantly, almost two weeks later they came back and asked for more docs, most of which clearly could have been asked for at the first review. Quite frustrating and I now my broker made quite a fuss about this.

On the back of that, I asked the broker whether all was looking good and they felt it was highly likely to be approved and it was just a case of getting the right paperwork to them. So I took the punt and paid for the valuation. This was around 29th April.

Valuation was carried out on Friday, it's come back today as fine and the case is now in 'Awaiting Final Decision' all of a sudden. Does anyone know what happens at this stage? Should it be a formality now?

I literally don’t know what else they can ask for. It’s making me so stressed. I’m spending all day refreshing my emails.

What have you been asked for so far?

What have you been asked for so far?
2x Most recent bank statements (they’ve had all the others prior)
    1x wage slip
Questions about transactions on the account.
    *Another letter from employer
    *Tenancy reference
*Another two questions about transactions on account
*Brief reason for our defaults (I can’t remember what the defaults were but know why they occurred)

And I’m sure there was something else.

Because I have money going into various accounts just through the way I manage it, I got asked for additional statements, breakdowns of all of my borrowing, and evidence of payments for my wife's DMP. That was about it. No idea if they generally still ask for more at the final decision stage though...

I think it’s fairly standard but still stressful all the same. Did you get your offer?
