Just been asked for a declaration of solvency for the giftor, our solicitor has no clue what this means. Can anyone shed light on this? TIA
Isn’t this where they sign to say they understand it’s a gift etc? Have u had offer?
Yeah we have, I was just going through our offer and it is under the special conditions part of the letter. We signed the declaration form for the gifted deposit when our bluestone app went in so I am not sure why they are asking for this
We have had the same I think hang on I’ll check
Your solicitors should have one aswell. Ours asked for one right at  the start they sent it straight to my mother in law along with ID (still a sore subject) bank Statements. It went with a script that said they have no intention in the property and they understand the money is a gift not a loan etc. It basically makes it legal when coming from the solicitor
  • I thought I would share my application timeline because this is something I was looking for myself.
My mortgage application went in on 7/04 but we had to wait a while for the Help to buy to be agreed upon (ATP) before the application could go to the underwriter.
Valuation on the 26/04 (done early to save time while we waited for the ATP)
Finally, we had confirmation and the mortgage went to the underwriter on the 28/04
Hard search on Experian showing on the 29/04
I have handed in all my new bank statements and payslips just in case they ask
I am just waiting for the next steps, I am not sure what this will be as my mortgage application seems to be in a different order to others on here.

I wonder what the quickest turnaround from application to an offer has been with Bluestone. We only applied 2 weeks ago and I'm already wondering if/when we'll get our offer. Not the best time for me to go on a health kick and give up fun foods and the booze! haha!
our full app went in 31st March and our offer was in on 29th April.  :)
Our full application went in the same day and although we gave everything asked for it is still at the first case manager stage. Was meant to be with underwriters last week but still not there. No further info or docs asked for. When chased told that everyone is being dealt with at the same time frame and that no one is any further in than us. Cannot understand it.

This is really gutting seeing everyone’s timeframe.
    Ours: DIP 22/3
    Full Application 30/3
No hard search or anything since, no further request for docs or info. Still at initial stage, not with underwriters as yet.
Seller now put house back on the market as will not wait any longer

It’s really hard, our application went in 09/04 and I know that’s after you but I’ve seen people around the same time have searches, valuations etc and it’s tough. But every case is different I know ours is complex so I’m trying to stay calm. I’m a bit of a data geek so taking the timelines I’ve found on this forum I’ve worked out the average number of working days until valuation is instructed is 23, and 29 working days from application being submitted to offer. This has helped me as with the bank holidays etc I can see we are still well within this time frame

Yea we had the same. It’s the forms they signed via the solicitor in the beginning just to say they understand it’s a gift etc. Nothing to worry about
Thanks for this! I’m going to follow up tomorrow just in case. I’ll be glad when this is all over

Hopefully, it all depends upon how quick they get another offer I suppose. Everything is selling really quick here so don’t think it will be on the market for long. Really pleased you have received your offer, I was being reading the posts for a couple of weeks and had my fingers crossed for you.
