@Samfaye01 @Spenny01 hang on in there, lenders came back today for a employers reference for myself. (I’ve only been in the NHS for 18 months) so that’s done but nothing else! Our offer on our house was accepted a month ago today. I just hope the sellers are prepared to wait!1

I have been reading all of the posts as we are in the application stage. We got the dip and submitted bank statements, payslips, out incoming and outgoings, my husbands 3 years books as he is self employed. It went for the documentation checks and they asked for a letter from previous landlord and then they come back and said they don’t need it because we are living in the property at the moment and paying rent to family. We moved in August. Before we moved in we were hadn’t paid rent from March to July as we were claiming universal credit and were waiting for that to be approved and that would pay the rent . We were council tenants.
I was relieved when they said they didn’t need it but now I am freaking out in case the underwriter asks for it.How many people have been asked for landlord letter? Did any submit one with rent arrears? It has now been sent to underwriters. How likely is it that the underwriter will ask for the letter? Really worried we will be declined if we have to get one. What stage do you think we are at?
I currently live in a council property and we were asked for a tenancy reference. They will ask for a tenancy reference if you have rented private or social over the past two years. I would try and get the document done ahead of time because it will only delay. Fortunately for me I had no arrears/missed payments but in the lending policy they do allow for missed rent payments.0 -
Soooo we found out today that this whole time our case hasn’t even gone to Bluestone it’s just been Brightstar requesting documents once a week. We got our DIP on 11th Jan so it’s been a long time. What they’d asked for was never full information which has caused us this 2 month delay. If we’d known everything, we probably could have saved ourselves 6 weeks wait so my advice to anyone is to do the research yourself if you don’t feel like your packager has asked you for the right info.0
