Still not had an update since 13th of January pulling my hair out now.
  • We thought after our valuation it was a case of crossing the t's and dotting the i's - so wrong we were!! We are still waiting our offer. They begun questioning the additional spend in December which was seasonal which is a nightmare given we were already apprehensive on spending since this journey started despite having the disposable to do so. Hoping to hear back soon!!

May I ask, was this due to spending outside the numbers you filled in the affordability section of the mortgage application? We are the same as you, being very very careful about spending but sometimes I worry that my numbers aren’t exactly the same as what we filled on the form. For example, extra trips to the supermarket for more food because we’re bored and overeating!
I hope you hear soon btw :)

Maybe they're being extra picky because you're tight on the affordability, I thought we would get questioned about Christmas shopping and other stuff but they didnt ask any questions about our bank statements and they've had them for nearly 3 weeks, asked for something else but nothing to do with spending. Our excess income is quite decent so I assumed that was why🤷‍♀️ I'm sure your broker wouldn't have got you this far if they wernt confident you would be approved. I havnt seen anyone on here be declined after valuation.

Just a quick update - my broker has said Bluestone have verbally approved the mortgage and the written offer will be through in 24 hours! So happy!!
    My timeline;
    29.12.20 - DIP approved
    08.01.21 - Full Application in
19.01.21 - query on a transaction & request for a copy of the home buyers report
22.01.21 - home buyers report sent to surveyors for retype
28.01.21 - Retype is back, Bluestone happy and confirmation of being at final underwrite
    01.02.21 - Offer confirmed!
    Yay, congratulations.
We are hoping to exchange and complete next week :)
I’m hoping for the end of the month! Good luck - hope it all goes well!
Where are you at with yours? It seems like everyone has the same timescale at the moment
  • We still have substantial disposable each month so I'm perplexed into why they've been so questioning it. We did spend more as supermarkets Nov & Dec but some was picking up new clothes for daughter who's had a second growth spurt and all the shops in our tier at the time was shut and picked up gift cards for family members as again, couldn't get anything in shops. Plus didn't know if we were going to parents for Christmas Day so brought bits incase Christmas was cancelled. Our broker 'freed' up £300 from what they came back with as spend to what the actual figure is. She also explained to them that we have the money to treat ourselves at Christmas but if they looked at statements we sent in from when this started so May - Nov statements they can see we don't buy takeaways or all the 'extra' supermarket shopping. I'm hoping we find out today because to get this far and then losing it is just making me anxious

I received my formal offer on Monday - hoping to exchange and complete by the end of the month! It took just over 3 weeks from full application to offer

How bizarre, I wonder if this means we will quizzed at a later stage 🤦‍♀️
  • Just had the good news that Bluestone have given our broker the verbal offer!
They said we should have the formal paperwork tomorrow.
    We formally applied on 08/01/21.
  • We have just had confirmation that our revised offer has been issued and documents will be available within 24 Hours. 18 Weeks to get to this stage, so extremely happy. Have to say ours has been a complex case, but got there in the end. Please stick with it all those that are waiting.
