Has anyone used the Lux ACS 3600 with a rack batt, particularly the Fogstar ones? eg. Seplos or Topband BMS.
There are lots of people in this thread with Lux inverters and Pylontech or Aoboet rackmount batteries.
I don't recall anyone with Fogstar batts, though.

I didn't know about them until a few days ago. They've got a new one coming out in a month or two, 15kWh for £2500. That's going to shake things up a bit.

Searching the forum for them only turns up four threads:
This one (the one we're currently in), this one (where you mentioned them), this one, and this one. The oldest post is from April last year, so barely nine months ago.
By comparison there's about 170 mentions of Pylontech, back to 2019 at least.

I just looked up their website when I saw them mentioned on a Youtube vid. They've got quite a range, especially for a company I had previously never heard of. We need a volunteer to try them!
  • Someone is.. I'm sure they will be along soon with their experience.

Had a little nosey, I saw they have a lifespan of 3500 cycles, 9.5 years if cycled daily. Weighs 140kg but luckily comes on wheels, OK in the garage but not handy to get up in the loft!

Pylontech state 6000 cycles for their batteries, 16.4 years.

Not sure that anyone will yet be able to report if either figure is accurate though  :*

I'm a bit less bothered about lifetime cycles since I came to the conclusion that hammering batteries, to reach ROI soonest, is the way to go. By the time you have got your money back there will be much better and cheaper batteries available.

    3500 cycles of a 15.5kWh battery is 54250kWh. At £2500 you're talking about 4.6p/kWh in battery costs.

    6000 cycles of a 5kWh battery is 30000kWh. At £1300 for a Pylontech US5000 it's 4.3p/kWh, so a little bit cheaper.

Before trying to work out the cost per cycle,  it would be as well to understand exactly what is meant by a 'cycle' !   AIUI, one cycle means to take state of charge from 100% down to 0% then back to 100%.

By that definition,  I've still got 6000 cycles left and can expect the batteries to last longer than I do  >:)

  • I've had an issue with 3 of my uhomes batteries, I have a stack of 4. Today infinity asked me to connect them to a new battery they sent me. I did this, this morning and configured the stack of 5. I've come to get the system working again, new battery as master and the one working battery as a stack of 2. The problem I've got is an alarm on the lux saying battery comms failure (happened when I set the stack of 5 up this morning), is still up (came up again when I plugged the stack of 2 Comms wire in). The lux thinks it still got 5 batteries in the stack. Is there any way of resetting this? I've tried turning off the inverter for 5 mins but hasn't resolved it.
