Does anyone know the number that actually gets answered in Scottish Power for the home incomer fuse upgrades please? 5 days now and it appears the company has gone bankrupt as no one has answered the number. Or the 2 people that work for them are a bit busy.....

Took me 18 months and umpteen complaint letters to finally prize a refund of over £1000 out of them after my mother passed away.
They're just not fit for purpose and wouldn't touch them with a bargepole again.Scott in Fife, 2.9kwp pv SSW facing, 2.7kw Fronius inverter installed Jan 2012 - 14.3kwh Seplos Mason battery storage with Lux ac controller - Renault Zoe 40kwh, Corsa-e 50kwh, Zappi EV charger and Octopus Go0 -

I'm looking for advice from anyone with Pylontech batteries with their Lux inverter and have tried to give as much info as possible below. Four US2000Cs were installed in April 2022 (new installation, Home Energy Group, linked to Big Green Beard)
A couple of weeks ago my wife called to inform me the batteries were emitting a continuous high pitched tone and the third one was flashing red (others flashing green as normal during discharge, powering the house but on this occasion the green SOC indicator LEDs were out of sync with the other three - I was out and it was a few hours before I came home to reset them so maybe that one had shut down).
This has just happened again this afternoon (all discharging, SOC 63%).
In both cases I switched all four off starting with the Master and then after a minute they were switched on again, starting with the master as before. It takes a while before the lights start to come on & flash and then shortly after that the inverter relays click & everything is running again. Today, all four batteries continue to display the same number of green LEDs, presumably because I reset them within a few minutes of hearing the warning tone.
We were overseas for six weeks October-November and all four batteries basically sat at around 100% with occasional automatic top ups if they started to drop. Since then we have been running the house with them 05.30-23.30, recharging with Intelligent Octopus off peak overnight and a small amount of solar when it's available. Yesterday they drained to the 10% reserve around 10.30 pm, the house tripped over to our other set of PV batteries linked to the main panels/Hybrid Solax inverter and then the Pylontechs recharged to full overnight as normal.
Is this fault indicative of an issue with that battery or some sort of balancing issue? All four batteries display the same number of green charge indicator lights so I cannot see 'number 3' being any different to the others.
(I am not tech enough to have any sort of individual battery monitoring so no information is available to study them in any detail)
Any advice is appreciated thanks.0 -

I have four 2.4s and had a similar problem to yours last year - but without the noise from the batteries. My batteries are in the airing cupboard and, as I couldn't think of any other reason for this to happen, I turned all the batteries off and removed and then put back each cable.I did this just in case my wife had somehow disturbed things as she put things in/removed things from the cupboard. It worked! (I know - I'm a guinness)Soon after this happened I had a problem with the inverter. The long red cable from the inverter to the batteries burnt out and I was unable to charge the batteries. When I turned everything off and looked at the cable (which had been there for three years with no problems), I took the cover off the connection that is supposed to be waterproof- and it was very moist inside. When I disconnected it from the inverter outlet it was a bit loose (naughty installer!) and this had caused a lot of pitting and melting.I had to have the inverter replaced to rectify all this. The company that installed the system had gone bust and the company (same one under a new name) didn't want to know so I contacted Jake at Infiniti and he came up trumps.I complely disconnected the inverter and removed it from the wall, took it to Infiniti and swapped it for a new one. I then fitted it to the wall and reconnected everything, crossed my fingers and switched everything on and it worked! (More guinness)Moral of the story?Make sure that everything is tight!
