  • Just thinking that might be why you are getting problems. The aoboet is totally different to the pylon in the way it equalises usage. I have found mine feeds one battery to another as part and parcel of its day. I can watch battery 4 having a larger hit whilst battery two maybe has a charge from battery 4. I wonder if it is done by computer chip rather than pylon techs balance methid
Interesting. How do you see individual battery usage like that? Mine only work with the old Aoboet app and it's... not very good

  • yip the yip the old aoboet app. And sometimes I have to reset the full set of batteries to get it to work again. Very hit and miss

Hi @ianatkin have you tried registering your batteries on the newer Uhome app?

They give a lot of information about the state of the individual batteries / cell voltages / current levels / temps etc....

I've tried but not been able to get it to work - I asked about it here but didn't get a response: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/80452896#Comment_80452896

Sorry I'd never seen that, just replied  :)
  • For those that have uhome batteries, I've posted this aswell on the forum mentioned by ianatkin above

Infinity have a device for updating the firmware on uhome batteries, however it looks nothing like the video they have online. I have recently been through updating firmware on my batteries. The T&C's for the batteries says Aoboet must be able to remotely monitor the health of the batteries and infinity couldnt do this. So I got the kit shown below. When I applied the update, to the master battery, one of the stack of 4 was updated to the latest version of firmware (v1.2.1.6 this is for older batteries) and its caused a lot of issues, to the point that today infinity have said they will provide a new battery so they can view my stack and see how it is performing. The software they sent me had a "bug" and Aoboet provided another update v1.2.1.8, however this software wouldnt be accepted by the now faulty battery.

My route into this was I raised an issue with infinity saying that the warranty would be invalidated if no wifi capability. If you are getting no joy with your installer, use support@infinityinnovations.co.uk (youll get an email back saying the email address is only for installers and if you are not an installer you wont get a reply). Phil (tech guy) at infinity has been good once I got them to do anything. My installer was Biggreenbeard, so I also copied them in on the first email (BGG are now business only). The update process is not intuitive, especially if you dont have great IT knowledge, you'll need to speak to them as info on how to update the battery stack is next to nothing.

  • @chainreaction I got mine on line with the old aoboet app. I assume that the firmware should change itself if required? My new bat is on 1.2.9 and older ones all on 1.2.1.2

I've asked infinity why they can't update OTA, it's the problem I initially reported was one of the batteries couldn't connect to WiFi and be seen in old Aoboet app. Mine were at v1.2.9 and now one of them is screwed up. I still have 2 in the stack at v1.2.9. these are working fine and the master I can't see anything regards SOC etc in old Aoboet app

  • Ive now managed to get my stack of 4 uhome updated to the latest firmware v1.2.2.6 for my age of battery (first iteration battery), using the tool I got from Infinity. Infinity have said I cant register this age of battery on the uhome app. 3 out of the 4 are visible on the old Aoboet apk app and I'm trying to get the fourth connected to the wifi but not having much success with the usual method of pressing white reset button for 7-10 seconds and then looking for the USR address.

  • Has anyone used the Lux ACS 3600 with a rack batt, particularly the Fogstar ones? eg. Seplos or Topband BMS.

I've had a Growatt SPA3000 but it doesn't let you customise the protocol, and even though my batt claims support for Growatt I think this is on another series where you can get the inverter to recognise the Pylontech protocol. Which the SPA3000 doesn't seem to do. Working out whether to swap it out and sell on.
