Very strongly worded advice this morning that just because someone is younger, it doesn’t mean that they automatically won’t become very ill if they catch this, so very much a question of social distancing applying to EVERYONE.
The message is for those younger people to stop being complacent and to stop congregating in bars, pubs and restaurants, etc.
It couldn’t have been more plain.

It couldn’t have been more plain.Fat chance of that when Tim Martin, boss of Wetherspoons, insists the pubs are staying open.

TBH, I think it's the older people who are willfully disregarding the advice about social distancing who need convincing more than the younger ones.3

Trying to convince my near 90 MIL that she needs to avoid contact with others seems to go over her head. She said her recent blood test results her doctor said she was very good for her age.......... but then that's relative isn't it?! I think it doesn't really register that this is serious despite my OH saying it's a life and death issue. The only saving grace is that her knees hurt her so badly she can't walk very far.

I have just had a row with my lovely neighbour whom in over ten years I have never had a cross word with.Pollycat said:TBH, I think it's the older people who are willfully disregarding the advice about social distancing who need convincing more than the younger ones.
I won’t go into too many details, but she is a lot younger than me, and despite being in a vulnerable group has been going out and about, into shops and with groups of people, despite me gently suggesting this isn’t a good idea. She only has 4 days worth of food supplies, but poo-poos the idea of starting to get food delivered.
The last straw was when she said she wasn’t changing her plans to go to London this weekend to see her mum on mother’s day, despite the directive of No Unnecessary Travel. ( Her mum won’t be alone, by the way).
I’m afraid I got angry. It’s the first time we’ve ever had words, and I’m quite upset that someone who is as intelligent as she is doesn't see the enormity of this.(I just lurve spiders!)

I am about to go in self isolation. I am not in at risk group but I am informal carer for my ex husband and he is in at risk group. So from saturday for 14 days we are both in lock down apart from me having to walking the dog!!! And then after that I will visit him a couple of times a week to see he is ok and pass on any deliveries I have for him. I know people are going to say no. But if we are both self isolating that means no contact with anyone and I will be shopping online. And going out early and late for dog walking. And will be crossing over the road to get away from any one I meet. And for my ex its going to be a long and lonely 12 weeks for him if I don't visit.I did ask him to come and stay with me but he wants to stay at home.YoursCalley xHope for everything and expect nothing!!!
