Yes - I already send her used books I find on amazon / ebay but they don't keep her out of mischief for long enough - she's a fast reader. I sent her one last week. It was read the day it arrived (I suspect within 2 hours).

Think I will go with finding my old kindle, loading it with whatever I can and putting it in the post. Then will look at what options are going forward. At least the chance of her breaking cover to go to the library is looking lower. They are shutting the ones where she is at 5pm today. I think I will wait till after 5pm to tell her they have closed to avoid her making a quick dash.

Is your kindle one with an SD card? If so you could send her top up books on a micro SD card or 2 if you have any spare. Even small sized micro SD cards can fit a good few books on. Don't forget places like Gutenberg if she'd be happy reading some (free!) classics too.

Daily e-mails from Bookbub have cheap and free kindle book recommendations, but you have to get in quickly as the offers don't always last long.

Well answering the OP, it seems too many people thought it wasn't going to happen to them and ignored government requests

Well here we are on day 1 of a Brave New World and being instructed to comply whether we want it or not! it seems the only sensible solution to giving us a 'firebreak' and slowing down the virus but only IF people actually do stay in and avoid contact with others.  We are in for the duration and expecting at least 12 weeks and probably a lot longer for us if we make it because we'll need a vaccination before we can mix with anyone else ever again so I'm hoping and praying that an effective vaccine is found and made in large enough quantity to allow us to be vaccinated and  play whatever part we can in the society and community we find when this has been and gone and is behind us.  That day WILL come and it will come a great deal sooner if we play by the rules from this day onwards so please, please take the long view and let the medics and the scientists have breathing time to get this under   some sort of control and work towards vaccines and cures and effective treatments without putting them under extra danger by ignoring the shut in!

I heard MrB talking to a neighbour this morning so looked out to check, she was in her upstairs window and he was on the right of our garden furthest away from her, I am surprised they could hear each other!!
