It says that it comes into effect on the day you sign up for it.
You effectively signed up from the 1st, as that was the earliest date you could sign up for it.
You only expressed your decision earlier.
Comes in to effect on the day of sign up. The tracking on the app also says 'if you met the conditions you should receive your offer around the 12th of the following month'.

I met the conditions in May, so I will be receiving the offer around the 12th of June. The fact that I didn't receive the £2 on the 2nd working day of this month (June) confirms the new reward is due around 12th.

p.s. Although the £2 offer used to be paid on the second working day of each month, I was paid the £2 in May on Friday 01 May 2020. Clearly not the second working day of that month. It was the first working day. Seems Halifax has changed it from 2nd to 1st working day from February 2020.
Anyway, 1st working day or 2nd working day, its now the 4th working day and it still hasn't been paid, so the new offer payment is due around 12th.
The fact you didn't receive the £2 is a Halifax error which they're investigating.

    Lots of us haven't.

On the £5 - I'll bet you £5 you don't receive that (this month) either.
Thanks for saving me the trouble!
On the claim of the 1st, in 11 years of account ownership the earliest I've ever had mine was the end of the 1st working day, ie the very end if they complete their batch processing before midnight. I wonder if the poster is relying on the statement date?

On a related point, when they originally launched the Reward account didn't they have a 12th of the month payment date? Which was then brought forward? Maybe they'll do the same with this one?

Regarding the old accounts, each time you opened a new account you received 50 and it went up to 75 at a later date .
It may then have gone to a 100 after that I cant remember exactly but I got two or three incentives .
I also used my overdraft to fund the £1000 into each account one after another over seconds  to meet the pay in terms .
In the past you could stay in OD up till 3pm or so they claimed and still get your reward .
Im sure I forgot once until late evening and it was ok.

The overdraft cutoff time may be different on this new account but a adviser did tell me the current times will apply on the new accounts .
You can lose the fiver if you use your overdraft into the next day accidently or not .

In the tracker I can see 2 exclamation marks and 1 tick symbol icons under the account number.
But no narrative to explain what those little icons mean to my account.
I assume this could be down to the fact that I haven't spent any amount on the DC yet?
    But still, strange.
Glad to see that things are becoming clear now for most!
    Problem solved!
The tracker details weren't visible due to my strong adblocker that would wrongly consider that info as an advertisement.
Heads-up for those using an adblocker which may be filtering the narratives then.
    You have these options:
    1) Whitelist Halifax url in your adblocker. This is usually available in all adblockers.
    2) Pause the adblocker. This pause button is available in some adblockers.
TO CLARIFY: If you see exclamation marks and ticks followed by blanks and no narrative, then most probably is due to your adblocker. If narratives are visible nothing to worry as adblocker is working OK.
    Good luck.

Are you confusing them with a different bank?

I decided to go with the option of keeping £5k in my account. My pension (£1,500) goes into the bank at the end of the month so what was paid in at the end of May will cover my direct debits during the first couple of weeks in June and still leave my daily balance above £5k. Although I can NOW track my rewards (for the first time !) it says I am not on track to earn my £5 but that shouldn't be a problem as my pension will go in before the end of the month. Looking forward to my £5 on or around the 12th July. Fingers crossed.

Halifax probably states these later fiver payment dates such as 12th of June for occasions such as right now when people havent received the £2 payment ?
During new account launch IT teething issues  etc .
In reality  down the road I think Yorkshireboy will be right and the new account fivers will roll in earlier once things settle down .
If the Halifax cover them selves by saying 12 days to pay out rewards vs 1 or 2  days which has been the norm .....they wont have to pay out cash on customer complaints they know  will be logged  .
