Opening a Post Office® Online Saver
You can only hold one sole Online Saver account and one joint Online Saver account.

Looking forwards to closing some of the post office accounts - anyone stopped their direct debits yet?

Me too, though I haven't yet cancelled the DD's.  I gave up trying to do it via their site and just cancel them via my sending bank these days.  I tried multiple times in the past to cancel DD's on PO site and got kicked out, but I lost faith in them completely when I closed an old PO saver and the DD was STILL taken 10 days after closure.
I really don't trust the POs IT so I've cancelled the DDs from the Halifax end and also closed the accounts from the Post Office end too.

To be sure, to be sure....

I still have a Technical error on another of these PO savings issues where I am unable to transfer any balance out (either internally or externally).

Although the PO have been a great tool for exploiting DDs I'm glad to be slowly leaving.
  • I wonder how much of their business PO will see disappear over the coming weeks

I have 3 Halifax reward accounts, registered them all, when I click on Current account options then Track your reward extras I get on all three accounts:-
"You can't add Reward extras to this account.
To use this offer, you need to have one of these accounts: Ultimate Reward Current Account, Reward Current Account"

All three are Reward Current accounts.
.However when I click "add your rewards extras I get:- "You already have Rewards Extras"

    Hi there,
I believe this means the activation of your reward extras is underway.
I saw the same message as you yesterday but today the accounts are trackable.
They are gradually catching up as it seems.

In the tracker I can see 2 exclamation marks and 1 tick symbol icons under the account number.
But no narrative to explain what those little icons mean to my account.
I assume this could be down to the fact that I haven't spent any amount on the DC yet?
    But still, strange.
Glad to see that things are becoming clear now for most!

Yes - online banking still says the old thing and doesn't show "tracker" etc. At the moment that's only available via the mobile app.

    Online on my accounts today.
The tracking thing with ticks and no ticks has shown and at other times hasnt shown so it seems like they are working on it and we need to wait out .
I dont use the app so online was working today but seems hit or miss so far .
Work in progress I imagine .

    Just a point to consider.
it may be worth keeping all the minor direct debits, etc on the new reward accounts, even though they're not necessary for the new reward payments.
There's no further work involved, and will give the appearance that the accounts are being used somewhat as proper current accounts.
This may be to our individual and general benefit over time, possibly minimising the chance of Halifax withdrawing the rewards in future
