Now I have one funny story with a morale for you.
Mr John Notonthedole has plenty of spare cash.
One sunny Saturday morning he notices that PO is offering attractive rates for their Online Saver account. So he rapidly connects to his PO Online Banking wishing to save £50,000.
He tries once by using his other bank's DC.
Uh oh! "We are experiencing technical difficulties at the moment. We are really sorry and are working very hard to fix the issues". And gets logged out.
He tries for the second time ===> same
He tries for the 3rd time ===> same
........
By 6 pm after 7 hours solid in front of the laptop, he tries for the 100th time ====> same
Mr Notonthedole is a very busy man and cannot be bothered about complaints with PO, offering help to solve silly IT errors and take it to the Ombudsman.
So what does Mr Notonthedole do?
Next day, Sunday, another sunny morning in usually wet British spring, he connects with provider HappySavings where he pays the funds in in less than 5 minutes.
Morale:
If anything PO with their crappy system do a lot more against their own profits than you, me and all the MSE'ers that use PO for DD and DC, combined together. Guaranteed.
I say this as an IT person, hahahaha.
OK. Seriously.
If you have one account only with stable DDs that you dont need to change or delete then PO works fine. That was my case for some time. Once you open more accounts and dare to make changes the nightmare starts.
Mark my words. I hope not but if you start seeing the Tech diff screen you will remember this exchange. With a smile on your face, I hope.

Just checked the tracker and it's saying I'm not on track for all 3 accounts, as I haven't spent £500. I did make a £500 payment from one account yesterday (won't give details, but I didn't 'buy' anything), so hopefully it'll register properly after a couple of days, otherwise the promise of increased rewards could be a bit of a damp squib for many on here.0
-
The tracking in the app now works, that is it doesn't give an error, but the date is given as the 1st, and the debit card spend so far is zero, so it doesn't include all of the 1st, not 9pm anyway.0

I have one transaction reflected in the tracker so far but it only shows the amount, not what it is for. This could make it tricky for people identifying missing transactions but overall I think the tracker is very useful. No more guessing whether you met the offer terms 🤩0 -
I'd decided I wasn't going to bother with jumping through these hoops - not having contacted Halifax about choosing rewards, I assumed my account would revert to a bog-standard current account. However, it's still showing as a Reward account. I got 2 lots of £2 reward in June (and also in May). I've changed my standing order to pay in £1500 next month just in case they don't downgrade it. It's all a bit of a mess, isn't it?2
