Online shopping delivery slots during crisis

Yes, it depends on the area. There are currently lots in my son and daughter's areas but none at all in my area.0

Maybe they suddenly appear (as they have here) when a store gets an extra van.0

I have tried many times for a slot for weeks with Tesco and finally was stunned when I got one today. First time I've ordered online. Arriving tomorrow between 7PM and 11PM. So will see what arrives..... First time here but lurking for Ten years.0

Am I reading this right ?
I was about to draw up an order with Asda this morning when I noticed their message:“You can only amend your order in the last 7 days before it's due. The cut off time is 10pm.“
.
Does that mean, for example, that if I place an order on 25th May for delivery on 3rd June (9 days away) that I can’t alter the order after the 27th May? Surely I’m reading that wrongKevin
(can’t figure out how to put the above in quotation form0 -
The last 7 days means the 7 days before your delivery.
So in your example you could amend the order after 27 May. Not on the 26 May as that's 8 days before.1 -

Morrisons' Website - following on in a similar vein to the previous question regarding amending orders:The website says "To allow us to deal with unprecedented levels of demand, please finalise your order as soon as possible after placing it, and several days in advance of your delivery - no later than 72 hours before it is due to arrive."
When I click on "Book a delivery" I am presented with the next three days only (never any available slots, but that's another story).Am I missing something but I can't see how customers can comply with the 72 hour deadline if they are lucky enough to find a slot in the three days presented? If there's a slot next day they only have 24 hours.Come on someone, put me right but do it gently as I'm in my dotage.

I think you'd be fine to book a new delivery within 72 hours, as the system would know what stock was available. I'm not sure of your situation, but some retailers are only allowing "vulnerable" or "loyal" customers [each has a different definition of these!] to book slots further than 3 days ahead, which could be why you're not seeing them.
They are asking customers not to change orders in the last 72 hours so that they can forecast stock and delivery van capacity. If a customer adds items to their order during that time, Morrisons won't have time to adjust their own supplier orders, so it is more likely that products will end up out of stock for their in-store customers once they've picked the online orders. If a lot of items are added, there may not be enough space in the delivery van, since they're trying to fill them all to capacity at the moment. Conversely, if the customer removes items very late then these may have been showing as unavailable to other customers who would have liked to order them. If a lot of items are removed, that might have freed up space in the van for another customer order (it's likely that any slots appearing in the next three days would be as a result of another customer doing this).

Thank you. I was just curious. I am unlikely to book a delivery with Morrisons as there are never any slots available.I usually use Asda because I like to plan my deliveries about 10 days apart and it's easier for me to do this with them. Ten days apart seems impossible with other supermarkets. Tesco show delivery slots over a three-week period but say "No slots available. Try another day". Waitrose (£60 minimum order) and Sainsbury's only show a one week fully booked period. Can never get onto the Ocado website.0

As I cant use Clubcard vouchers any more to renew it I was going to change it to the cheaper mid week rate (or cancel it) - however, if i try and change it will they just cancel it as they are not taking any more 'new sign ups' or are they pausing the payments? Thought i saw an email about pausing payments, but cant find it. Apologies if this isn't the right forum to post it in. Thanks and all the best
DearWe know that, during this incredibly challenging time, it’s been hard to find available home delivery and Click+Collect slots.
We understand how frustrating this is; it’s mainly down to a huge increase in demand for online deliveries. Although we’ve added as many extra slots as we can, we’re holding them back for our most vulnerable customers – to try and make sure they have everything they need.
We realise that the lack of availability is inconvenient – and that’s why we’re suspending all Delivery Saver subscription fees until we can offer the full service again. Plus we’re refunding half of the fee you paid for March to make up for the inconvenience. We’ll let you know when we can give you the Delivery Saver experience you are used to.
You’ll still have access to the free home delivery and Click+Collect slots that would normally be covered by your Delivery Saver plan; you just won’t have to pay the subscription fee while we’re dealing with this high demand.
We’re still working hard to add even more free slots, but for the time being, we ask those who are able to safely come to stores to do so.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.Zoe Evans
UK Customer Engagement CentreI've paid upfront for a Delivery Saver plan. Cannot get any delivery or C&C slots for the foreseeable future. I can create a new account and there are numerous delivery and C&C options. Any else had this seemingly prejudiced approach? Also, I've not had a refund in respect of my plan and it is due to expire on the same date (i.e. they haven't extended it). Any thoughts?0
