Spoke too soon. Logged in @ 6.30 this morning and was offered a slot between 10.00 & 18.00 on Monday. Thank you Mr T.badger09 said:
Managed to speak to Tesco on Tuesday and was told we qualify for their list for 'Priority slots' due to our age, limited to one delivery per week but no guarantee of a slot on a particular day. Logged in today and there are no 'Priority slots' available up to 6th May, which is far as they go.badger09 said:
I used to shop almost exclusively @ Tesco - sometimes in store sometimes online. We're both over 70 with underlying health conditions, (not on the vulnerable list). I've been logging in at all times of the day & night, including 3.15am as I couldn't sleep. Still can't get a slot for either delivery or click & collect. Availability of slots obviously depends on where you live. I've just about given up so once a week we walk the 2 mile round trip to local Co-op for essentials, and get some exercise at the same time.sarah1972 said:Just logged into Tesco and there are slots available for every day next week, Just booked on for Thursday
I was very relieved to be on their list and we would manage with a delivery every 2 weeks, but doesn't look as if even that is possible.
@valhenley
Have a look at my posts earlier on this thread. Assuming you've been a Tesco customer for some time, try phoning them

We are now on their list for priority slots and so far have managed to book 2 slots 10 days apart which is fine. 1st delivery was almost complete and only a couple of reasonable substitutions. 2nd delivery due later today.1 -
I can't help wondering how many slots are taken up by folk on the priority lists booking a recurring weekly slot simply because they're offered one, rather than because they need to ...
We're all doomed0 -
I have a neighbour who is getting weekly deliveries - has been for about 6 weeks.Si_Clist said:I can't help wondering how many slots are taken up by folk on the priority lists booking a recurring weekly slot simply because they're offered one, rather than because they need to ...
She is in her eighties, and not in good health and certainly needs priority slots but I can't help wondering what she is doing with it all! Waitrose has a £60 minimum as well.
2-3 weeks apart is plenty for me and I'm not one of the world's delicate eaters.0 -
maybe she's shopping for someone else who cannot get any slots like my sister? (though that is mainly because she has not got a computer or even a smartphone despite that i continually nag her to do so!)GaleSF63 said:

and as for that £60 minimum, perhaps she smokes too? i never realised until now just how much her cigarettes cost, near £50 for a 100! -- heavens! oh well, there are few enough pleasures in life as one gets older.

Fresh veg, fruit and milk won't last 3 weeks, so it depends how versatile she is regarding cooking/eating habits. I don't think £60 a week is out of the way - most people agree it costs a bit more proportionally if you're single, and we spend about £150 a week at Waitrose for a couple.GaleSF63 said:I have a neighbour who is getting weekly deliveries - has been for about 6 weeks.

d63 - neither, though I admit there are plenty of things that could bump up the bill quickly like a couple of bottles of something and a leg of lamb!pumpkin89 said:

pumpkin89 - I know from my own experience over the last few years that there are things that don't last 3 weeks; I've learned to live without them for a few days, (salad stuff in particular I miss) but this lady has a daughter who brings her shopping as well. (No contact, they aren't doing anything silly.)
Yes I suppose i was criticising but there are a lot of people still unable to get slots.0 -
Hope everyone is doing okay. Quick question - my anytime delivery saver expires in June. As I cant use Clubcard vouchers any more to renew it I was going to change it to the cheaper mid week rate (or cancel it) - however, if i try and change it will they just cancel it as they are not taking any more 'new sign ups' or are they pausing the payments? Thought i saw an email about pausing payments, but cant find it. Apologies if this isn't the right forum to post it in. Thanks and all the best0

I found a copy of the email here it is below, if it was me I’d leave the delivery saver as it is as Tesco usually send a reminder when it needs to renew. Hope that helps.loxley108 said:Hope everyone is doing okay. Quick question - my anytime delivery saver expires in June. DearWe know that, during this incredibly challenging time, it’s been hard to find available home delivery and Click+Collect slots.
We understand how frustrating this is; it’s mainly down to a huge increase in demand for online deliveries. Although we’ve added as many extra slots as we can, we’re holding them back for our most vulnerable customers – to try and make sure they have everything they need.
We realise that the lack of availability is inconvenient – and that’s why we’re suspending all Delivery Saver subscription fees until we can offer the full service again. Plus we’re refunding half of the fee you paid for March to make up for the inconvenience. We’ll let you know when we can give you the Delivery Saver experience you are used to.
You’ll still have access to the free home delivery and Click+Collect slots that would normally be covered by your Delivery Saver plan; you just won’t have to pay the subscription fee while we’re dealing with this high demand.
We’re still working hard to add even more free slots, but for the time being, we ask those who are able to safely come to stores to do so.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.Zoe Evans

If you're on the vulnerable list and can get priority booking slots, it seems to be:
Sainsburys - you can get slots whereas non-vulnerable can't however you have to be on the ball to get a slot when they come up.
Asda - you get a recurring slot each week if you want it or not, if you decline for 2 weeks in total then you lose your slot and can't get slots like everyone else. So you need to order each week.
Waitrose - you can book pretty much any time and day you want more than about a week or so ahead, up to you if you want to change when you get a slot and how often.
Tesco - ?
Morrisons - ?
If you have a shopping pass, don't cancel it or try to change it!
That's if you're on the vulnerable list AND the supermarket updates their records to say you are AND you had an account with them prior to the pandemic, if not you don't seem to be visible.0 -

2-3 weeks apart is plenty for me and I'm not one of the world's delicate eaters.Sorry if I am stating the obvious to many of you with the following but hope this helps. If you are classed as extremely vulnerable, e.g. you have the NHS letter and have completed the Government form stating that you need support, the Government will " . . . share your data with supermarkets so they can give you priority access to delivery slots." You will have to already be registered as an online customer.I am registered with all the supermarkets who deliver with the exception of Sainsbury's.The only supermarket who has contacted me is Asda following my Government form completion. Their letter tells me I can book a recurring weekly slot. Moreover, there will be no charge for delivery. Now, back to GaleSF63's post above. Could the same apply to Waitrose and is this the reason why the neighbour is getting weekly deliveries?
