Is Saturday midnight Tesco’s normal time for releasing slots?
As a trial I logged in tonight and could have had my pick of delivery slots for the 9th May A bit early for me, I’m after - 15th, 16th or 17th May. If Saturday is their normal release night then I’ll certainly try next Saturday for the 15th.
It does take you to be quick though 25 minutes later and the slots were all gone !

PennyForThem_2 said:How bizarre is Chrysalis' attitude. IMO all online delivery slots should now be reserved for the over 70s, essential workers and those who have to self isolate on orders of NHS. Those of us who are younger can get in the car and go to the supermarket. I am a year or two younger than 70 and that is what I do. I would be ashamed of myself for booking online delivery when there are more needy out there.
Are you really that closed minded that you think everyone not on this very "restricted" list and who is under 70 is able bodied?
Is that what you really think?
Well I got a news flash for you, there is many disabled people who are unable to get themselves to a shop or a supermarket who are "not" on this list, and are also unable to book slots readily.
Are you saying these people dont matter, they should be treated the same as able bodied people?
So just to clarify, I dont drive, I even have big difficulties getting in vehicles as a passenger, my local coop closed mid February, and there is nothing within my walking distance.
Your assumption that everyone under 70 who isnt on this list is fit and healthy is one of the strangest things I have ever read.
I have been using online delivery services for over 15 years, am I ashamed? no, because i am disabled and need to so I dont have to ask family members to do my shopping for me.
Word of advice, dont make unfounded assumptions about people.
For these reasons the list is very flawed, you cannot state someone who is 70 is extremely vulnerable and then claim a 69 year old isnt, likewise with 40BMI vs 39BMI, thats the problem with categorising people with black lines via diagnosis, its heavily flawed.
As an example my dad is in his 70s he is one of the most fittest people I have known, and is far more able bodied and mobile than myself.
I understand having a priority system, but please dont make the mistake of thinking its perfect, also apologies to those not involved in these posts, but I felt I had to respond to this, Because been labelled as someone abusing the system when I have been using deliveries for over a decade due to my disabilities is insulting.6 -

MrsStepford said:Ocado isn't giving refunds to SmartPass customers if they got two deliveries in March. They took my money for an annual pass and all I got was six hours of my life spent in virtual queues, for nowt. Not shopping there anymore.
Personally, I will be doing more of my shopping at Morrisons. This is because when I couldn't leave the house due to having a cough (but otherwise perfectly well) they were the only store who could get groceries to me via their food box scheme. I am grateful and will thank Morrisons by spending more money there in future.
I will spend less money at Sainsburys because, despite me having done most of my shopping there for the last 10 years, they could not do anything to help me when I couldn't leave the house. I understand the reasons but was disappointed.
'Loyalty' is a big thing for supermarkets, with their club cards, nectar cards and money off vouchers. Morrisons have won my loyalty through their innovative approach to distributing food to as many people as possible.3 -
Chrysalis - indeed, there are people with respiratory system issues, like me; not on a vulnerable list however as Covid-19 attacks the respiratory system those people like me are in the highest risk group of death if get the virus, no matter how otherwise healthy they are.
To say people over 70 should automatically be deemed by the State as decrepit and vulnerable is very inaccurate (and surely insulting?).
Disabled people, old people who can't walk far, people with underlying health issues - they should get priority supermarket slots not "just because i'm over 70".

Slots for a single day in 3 weeks time appear at midnight.
Other shorter term slots get released randomly.

I complained about how long Iceland (in Swansea) were taking to give me a delivery slot. Maybe the power of the forum but shortly after I posted they offered me two alternatives on Saturday.
So it took from Tuesday to Saturday, which dosen't seem bad in these times so I have just placed another order, hopefully by next weekend I will have eaten most of the Greggs pasties!0 -

Both my OH and I suffer from respiratory ailments, which leave us in a right state, even with just a cold. We haven't been able to get any online deliveries at all, despite trying six different chains. We are running out of food, terrified to go to a large supermarket and only use our local co-op, which has shortened its hours, so it becomes more crowded.Somehow one of our neighbours gets two or more deliveries a week and they are just a couple.1
