Just logged into Tesco and there are slots available for every day next week, Just booked on for Thursday
I used to shop almost exclusively @ Tesco - sometimes in store sometimes online. We're both over 70 with underlying health conditions, (not on the vulnerable list). I've been logging in at all times of the day & night, including 3.15am as I couldn't sleep. Still can't get a slot for either delivery or click & collect. Availability of slots obviously depends on where you live. I've just about given up so once a week we walk the 2 mile round trip to local Co-op for essentials, and get some exercise at the same time.
Managed to speak to Tesco on Tuesday and was told we qualify for their list for 'Priority slots' due to our age, limited to one delivery per week but no guarantee of a slot on a particular day. Logged in today and there are no 'Priority slots' available up to 6th May, which is far as they go.

I was very relieved to be on their list and we would manage with a delivery every 2 weeks, but doesn't look as if even that is possible.
Spoke too soon. Logged in @ 6.30 this morning and was offered a slot between 10.00 & 18.00 on Monday. Thank you Mr T.

Good news. Asda, Sainsburys and Tescos seem to be stepping up to the plate.

Problem isn't that age that makes someone vulnerable. People even up to 106 have survived the virus; the issue are people with poor respiratory system issues as they are the ones likely to go on a ventilator and die - people like me, i'm mid fifties but whilst otherwise pretty healthy if I get the Covid-19 virus before they have the vaccine i'll probably die as I have lung issues.

Being old does not mean vulnerable in itself. There were reports recently of a keep-fit instructor in Hampshire somewhere, probably early 40's, who died of the virus - no-one can say she was fat, unhealthy or unfit!

I can see delivery slots on Tesco for early next week - they weren't there earlier this morning. I also saw some slots for ASDA click and collect that weren't available last time I checked. So anyone struggling should check again. We must be seeing the benefit of increased capacity coming on stream.

I got a meat box delivered from Morrisons today, I was worried after reading all the horror stories on Trust Pilot, but everything was okay, the pork steaks container was a bit squashed but still intact. The 10 sausages turned out to be only 6 so that was a bit disappointing as there are four adults living here for the time being. It was probably worth quite a bit less than the £45 but it saved us having to go out, so we're quite happy with it. The use-by dates are from the 22nd onward, that's pretty good I think!

I can see Click and Collect slots at Sainsburys for tomorrow and Sunday. These weren't there when I checked at lunchtime, so I assume people must have cancelled - there are quite a few slots in two local stores. So if you are struggling to get groceries, check again. In some areas taxi companies will pick up the shopping for you if you don't drive or can't get to the store.

It's not always cancellations, some SMs are releasing slots as and when they able to add more capacity.

Nothing here for the next 3 weeks, no delivery, no click & collect.

Ocado isn't giving refunds to SmartPass customers if they got two deliveries in March. They took my money for an annual pass and all I got was six hours of my life spent in virtual queues, for nowt. Not shopping there anymore.
  • Aldi have just launched their own food boxes for £24.99 including delivery  https://www.aldi.co.uk/food-parcels  great for anyone who isn't supposed to go out at all because they're shielding. I don't think contains any fresh food though.
I hope it doesn't mean there'll be less stuff available in store though because the beauty of Aldi up to now is that they are always well stocked as you could only get groceries by visiting the store.

Tesco is releasing slots at 12am for three weeks time.
They are also releasing some at short notice, yesterday I could have booked for 4 different days next week.

Iceland are booking 3 days ahead and releasing slots during the day.

You just have to keep trying multiple times at random all day.
