and I have a special offer with Barclaycard (no longer available) which gives me an extra £1 per month. So I am in pocket to £11. Suits me fine until the double rewards end!! at which time I shall feel alittle bit of switching coming on!
(*) Right now, they are even giving me £14, and are still only taking £4 back. So they are actually ten quid down each month.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

What you are all failing to realise is that Barclays are taking us for clowns. They charge a £4 fee and yes they give us £7, however..
For every DD that goes out, Barclays make money. So that is a min of 2 DD per month per customer. They also make you put in £800 per month, hoping you will spend some of that money which means more money made per transaction on card. So no, we are not making any money of them, it is Barclays who are ripping us off, and we cannot do anything about it0 -

Thats not a rip off though is it? They are a bank and are there to make money. Customers get a current account which is, effectively free, and get £3 paid back to them each month.xlnc99 said:What you are all failing to realise is that Barclays are taking us for clowns. Of course its a rip off!
The banks need us more then we need them. Infact, they would not survive without people like us. Yes they have to gain a profit like all businesses, but giving us a measly 3 4 quid a month when they are making billions and billions per year? That doesnt sit right. No-one is expecting a charity but they need to level up the playing field a bit. The banks ultimately run the world and they have a monopoly over us poor folks hence by giving us peanuts as rewards. Everyday we (me included) are talking about little tiny rewards and looking for the best deal when the banks are laughing in our face.0 -
There certainly is a clown in this thread, and it isn't mexlnc99 said:What you are all failing to realise is that Barclays are taking us for clowns.
Just to remind you that it is entirely voluntary to join Barclays Blue Rewards.xlnc99 said:Of course its a rip off!
It's quite disconcerting that you are actively supporting this, despite knowing that (to quote you) Barclays are crooks and their Blue Rewards account is a rip off / scam / outrage / Genuis Scam / loophole / scandalous that you reckon happens to many millions of customers - shouldn't you cancel out of it at your earliest opportunity? If you don't pull out now and report it to the Police immediately, you could find yourself in Court as an accomplice of Barclays!
Steady on. Who are those people like us you are talking about? I for one am not siding with you on the matter, and I can't see anyone else who does. So when you report the scandal to the Police, please make sure you do it in your name only.xlnc99 said:Infact, they would not survive without people like us.

To be honest, if you cant see it then your blind as a bat.
I am not supporting anything, i am saying we should rally for a change. Get more rewards from the banks and stop them making billions per billions per year whilst the world is in poverty. We need to stand up, but it looks like most of you just accept the way things are. Nothing will change like that.-1 -
