Barclays Current Account and Blue Rewards

If we all take a stand we can overcome the world order. Balance the scales and get what we deserve, which is more then £4 per month. If banks are profiting from our money, we deserve to be compensated more then £4 per month. We need to all fight together and take a stand.xenial said:
Life is unfair and bankers are thieves, yeah we all know that. Good luck with your efforts to overthrow the world order. Keep us posted.. but meanwhile I suggest you close your Barclays blue rewards account, so that they don't give you the £3 each month going forward. In fact you should probably switch away from Barclays, as they are the biggest crooks out of all. (insert sarcastic emoji here)xlnc99 said:Once again you are all missing the point. The banks need us, not the other way around. I cannot believe how for the life of me everyone is defending the banks. They are corrupt and have a monopoly over us. They rule the world essentially and profit billions of us.
They have brainwashed the people into thinking we need them but we dont however We have no choice but to have a bank due to rules and regulations and money laundering etc. They make money on our fees, direct debits, card transactions, our money - you name it.
Dont be fooled thinking the banks are doing us a service, they make billions and give us £4 a month a return. Yep, that sounds about fair.
Co-op, which claims to be an ethical bank (whatever that might mean), has a similar rewards programme. You can make up to £5.50 per month and you will pay no fee: co-operativebank.co.uk/currentaccounts/everyday-rewards

Why don't you just put your money where your mouth is then and bank with Triodos, who profess from the moral high ground that "Our financial and banking services are for savers, investors and organisations who want to change the world for the better"?xlnc99 said:

no such thing as 'moral' banks. They do not exist.0

There you go again, contradicting yourself. If something is a necessity, then we need it, because that's what the word necessity means. I note that you have ignored my question about why you have so many different bank accounts, if you don't need them. It implies that you're not prepared to put your money where your mouth is.xlnc99 said:EarthBoy said:
You've contradicted yourself in the same sentence. First you say we don't need banks, but then you say we have no choice but to have a bank account, so in other words we do need banks. Which is it?xlnc99 said:They have brainwashed the people into thinking we need them but we dont however We have no choice but to have a bank due to rules and regulations and money laundering etc.
If you think we don't need banks, why are you using them? In fact, why do you have accounts and credit cards with several different banks? Over on another thread you say that "I have several bank accounts with everyone bar natwest and metro." Why? If having a bank account is something that you have to do reluctantly, why don't you just stick to one account?
If the banks are corrupt and need us, you're just feeding that corruption and their need by using multiple banks and you could reduce the corruption by closing all but one of your accounts.
No contradiction. You need to understand the concept. We DO NOT need banks. However we have no choice but to have banks accounts. ... It is a necessity. You can be happy with your 5 pound reward per month when the banks are laughing in your face making billions of us.
By the way, I'm getting £10 per month from Barclays, not £5, as I've explained above, and I'm well chuffed with it.1 -
Earth Boy - I cannot simplify this any further. It is very straightforward to understand.
There is no contradiction. I will try going step by step if it helps you. We as human beings DO NOT need bank accounts. We can survive without bank accounts. However, the banks ultimately rule the world and control everything. The govern earth one way or another. They have forced us to have bank accounts even though they dont need them. Is it nice to have a bank account, yes of course it is. But due to legalisation, laws, governs, rules, money laundering etc etc it is a necessity to have a bank account. But who made it a necessity? The banks did.
Why do you ask? Very simple, Money! So the banks can profit of all us poor folks, whether it be debit card transactions, using our own money to trade and invest, charging interest on credit cards, fees, mortgages, etc etc. Yep, you got it. They have their finger in every pie and every market with our own cash. They use our money to profit for themselves.
What do we get in return? A smile and 5 pound a month. What do they get? Laughing in our faces and making billions per year. Just google how much HSBC, Barclays etc made in 2019!
As for why i have so many different bank accounts, because i need them and have been forced to have them! We have all been brainwashed and tricked into having them so we have no choice. It effects our day to day living. I have many incase one or two get shut down. We all need them!

I'm not here to claim them as the best thing since sliced bread but am simply highlighting that they trade on ethical standards, etc, and so if you're serious about 'taking a stand' and 'changing the world' then they'd seem an obvious place to bank. Therefore, if you disagree, on what basis do you do so?xlnc99 said:0 -
I am disagreeing because they are a bank and all banks profit from people like you and me!
We need to take a stand and boycott banking. Protesting. Complaints. etc etc
We should be demanding alot more money and even the playing field.0 -
Ah right, you're disagreeing with the entire concept of capitalism then? Enjoy North Korea....xlnc99 said:I am disagreeing because they are a bank and all banks profit from people like you and me!
