Have you got the Club Lloyd's Monthly Saver? 6.25% (with a bit of faff / Disney +).dlevene said:
It does seem like the RS market is pretty weak at the moment. I've got £400/month that needs a home - given that EA has just hit 5%, there's nowhere for it to go.0 -
Yeah that's probably what I'll do if the rates don't increase, worth the faff cycling the £2k for the saverflaneurs_lobster said:

Nobody's confused. Greater Manchester is a county, with a Lord Lieutenant and a High Sheriff, just like any other county. It just hasn't got a county council, just like Cheshire, Bedfordshire, Cumbria etc.happybagger said:It appears that some on here are confusing the idea of a current administrative district with county, historic or otherwise. But I'm not getting into further debate, if @dlevene needs a definitive answer on the question posed, the simplest thing is to try for the account. If others suggest phoning, fine, but you'll still need to send the application off if they say "yes" anyway.
Hopefully some people will get out of bed on a different side tomorrow morning

How easy is it to close the Halifax RS? There doesn’t seem much point in keeping it at 4.5% when you can get easy access at 5%.If I message them on the app how long will it take them to close it?0
-
You can do it yourself in the app by renewing it to a everyday saver

Don't close it directly. Your best bet is to log into online banking and renew it into an EA account, then close it from there (takes very little time at all). Plus due to a quirk in LBG's technical systems you should then be able to open a new regular saver at 5.5%.LZC said:How easy is it to close the Halifax RS? If you close it you won't be able open another for 12 months after the starting dateIf you 'renew' it to some easy access account it will be immediate and you leave the door open to open another one whenever you want2

where would you recommend, given the actual situation, to invest about 25-30k?
EA with tandem is 5%, Monument has 5.5% at 6 months, and Atom 6% at 1 year.
I have majority of my investment blocked in a 1 year fixed rate at 5% and just don't want to do the mistake again of rushing and then better interests come up
For this amount of money I am talking about there is no much difference probably between 5 and 5.5?0 -
Fixes have been hovering around 6% for a quite a while now, and seemed to have peaked a month ago at 5% fix for over 5 years (7 years is now 4.5%). Just down to when you need access to the cash; if in the next few months then EA, otherwise lock it for as long as you're happy. There will be small increases likely but I can't see anything major, and if there is then it's likely to stick around in to next year.Alicon88 said:where would you recommend, given the actual situation, to invest about 25-30k?
