Penrith Building Society have sent me an email saying they have increased their variable rates. But you have to contact them to find out the new rates. Anyone know whether this means the 6% Regular Saver has increased?
The find out more button brings you to a page that has a button for information on current rates. No RS300 increase yet
If you go to their website https://www.penrithbs.co.uk/news/interest-rates/
it has details of the rate increase happening on 22/08/2023. Many accounts eg the RG 200 is going up, but no mention of the RS 300, so therefore we can take it that there is no increase, which is pretty poor.

Those rate changes are from 2022

Mansfield haven't changed the closed issue RS accounts since June 1st. I have 2 and they are in my hit list. One likely to be closed. The other cut to minimum.
In my experience they won't reveal the new rate even on a branch visit until the date of implementation
Is this the 30 day notice one? I gave notice 28 days ago in the hope that rates might rise but now just looking forward to receiving the cash and depositing elsewhere.
I don't know about the 30 day one.
Mine are both the instant access ones now closed issue

    That document is from 2022.

It's already been identified on this thread that the RS200 (or RS300) has no increase this
time and will remain at 4 and 6% respectively.

MiserlyMartin's link takes you to the rate increases effective from 22/08/2022..

Re. Penrith BS, is there any detailed information about what "Heartland" areas are eligible to open accounts; maybe a list of postcodes? Want to know if "Lancashire" might cover the ceremonial county,  ie. include Manchester....

    Yes,

This account is available to Heartland residents or existing members of the Society and can be opened in branch or by post. (To be classed as an existing member you must have held either a savings account or a mortgage for at least the last 12 months. Heartland is defined as Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Lancashire and Yorkshire)

Yes I've seen that, I'm trying to get more specific information about what they class as Lancashire

No harm in trying although I suspect it  means the current, post 74, Lancashire rather than the historical boundary.

I'm not sure there's any way we can help other than give you what it in a society document. Anything else would be guesswork.

I would suspect it would extend to areas pre-74; try telling some people in Stockport they live in Manchester rather than Cheshire and you get short shrift.

As above, simplest thing would be to download and send it off and see.

Really? simpler than calling them up and asking?
