HBC11My regular savers are now averaging 1.7% with lots of variable accounts waiting to be revised during May. Virgin exclusive ISA is at 1.76%.The one advantage of the HBC series is that the savings can be debited at any time. Will VM up the interest to 2%? Will that be enough to keep the accounts competitive?0

Hi Folks,
I have changed the following items on page 1 of this thread for this weekend's update.
- Melton BS Regular Saver (Issue 1) removed as withdrawn
- Coventry BS Regular Saver (Issue 5) interest rate updated to 1.65% from 1st June
- Coventry BS First Home Saver added to page 1; paying 1.5% interest from 1st June on up to £1,000 per month for 36 months and the terms and conditions seem good with no penalties for missing payments or withdrawals from what I can see plus a £500 payment if you decide to take out a mortgage with Coventry BS
I will be reviewing the interest rates that I use for the cut off for inclusion in page 1 of this thread but I would like to see what happens to interest rates following the latest Bank of England interest rate rise first.
I will do the next update next weekend.

Can anyone advise how many payments you can make into a Lloyd's Regular saver? Currently at 12 but the anniversary isn't until late June.
Thank youMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...0 -
I regularly made 13, when they still paid decent interest. Nowadays, I would put my money elsewhere.annabanana82 said:Can anyone advise how many payments you can make into a Lloyd's Regular saver? Currently at 12 but the anniversary isn't until late June.

Assuming it pays 1% there is nothing stopping you closing it before June. You can probably get a better rate elsewhere.annabanana82 said:

For the sake of a month I'll leave it where it is for now. But I'll be spending that time researching how best to put around £10k away for the coming yearMDMD said:

Chase or Shawbrooks 6 month 2% fixed. I personally wouldn't fix for any longer with base rates rising on a monthly basis.annabanana82 said:

Haven’t seen it mentioned, but Beehive Savings, the online brand of Nottingham Building Society seemed to have entered the regular savings game.
For those interested their ‘Moneypot Regular Saver’ pays 1.20% fixed on up to £500 p/m. Allows multiple deposits, but no withdrawals until April next year. Can be opened using their app.Maybe one to watch for the future as rate can be beaten on easy access at the moment2 -
1.2% is a pretty unexciting rate if you can get up to 1.5% instant access1
