Regular Savings Accounts: The Best Currently Available List!

Leeds BS website still as antiquated as before. Showing nothing paid despite £250 going in yesterday. But on available to withdraw is showing as £150 as limit is £100. Interest is showing 0.05% too. I wonder if you have to wait for letter to activate the account"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Darlington BS has a 'Green Regular Saver' available from today. It won't make any RS best buy list (0.85% variable, max £250 pm, indefinite term, no min £ pm). But on the plus side, they say two trees will be planted for each new account opened. So for example, if you're paying into the Ecology BS's RS at 0.80%, then you might be interested in this 'green' product from the Darly. And anyhow, if I compare this RS with some others currently available that also have an indefinite life and permit closure without penalty, this one seems fairly competitive.
It's for existing members and locals only. However at present membership of the Darlington BS can be quite quickly and easily obtained by any UK resident, by first opening an Instant Access account.

I’m opening regular savers as long as they are better than the best easy access account will drop to the minimum amount when a really decent easy access account comes on the market"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"1

Provided the RS allows withdrawals or closure with no loss of interest.

https://www.darlington.co.uk/savings-account/special-occasion-saver-account/I'm not sure that they have pulled the Sp. Occ. RS as it is still showing on their website, alongside the new Green RS?EPC0 -

https://www.darlington.co.uk/savings-account/special-occasion-saver-account/Unfortunately not so quickly or easily as it seems to need a branch visit and a paper application form.Application Pack - General
If you are wanting to open a savings account for yourself or in joint names, you need to download, read, save and complete the following documents.
You will then need to contact your local branch to open your new savings account.
