    Re Gatehouse maturity

If anyone receives more information about the maturity options thing, can you let us know on here please? Saves us all having to ask them about it☺️
Phoned this morning ..... the option (online) should be under the Regular Saver Account + "Account Options" ..... but it's not there. CS checked and agreed that it's not there and said sorry, it will be fixed, but in the meanwhile it will mature into an Easy Access account!  Just delays things a bit, so not ideal.
I checked the Gatehouse maturity options for this morning - no Regular Saver available.  When not logged-in, the Regular Saver option under Savings says this:
"We're sorry, our Regular Saver Account is currently under review. Why not view our Fixed Term, Easy Access, Cash ISA or Notice Accounts."

Yes, Gatehouse CS also confirmed that they are not offering a new RS at the moment. I forgot to say earlier that they would not accept verbal Maturity instructions, it needs to be in writing and with a "wet" signature, not email! As someone said earlier .... not their finest hour!
Perhaps they didn't want us lot with maturing regular savers opening a new one!
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Perhaps they are reviewing the benefits of offering RS product.  It's a new venture for Gatehouse, they have only offered two issues so far and probably now evaluating their performance to see if it is viable to offer a third one.

It wouldn't be surprising if people openly shouting on here seeking compensation (not just the lost pence) on the 'extra payment' has influenced Gatehouse to have a rethink whether it's worth the time and effort.

Wouldn't be a first time the MSE massive have shot themselves in the foot. And it won't be the last
  • I'm happy to wait for my account to mature into an 'easy whatever' and have the money transferred to my nominated account. Don't see what all the fuss is about.
The "fuss" is about Gatehouse sending emails about maturity instructions that can't be applied by the account holder because they are not there (even though Gatehouse think they are there on their system) and included in the email a section that says ...... and I quote ...... "If we do not receive your maturity instructions ....... etc etc".

We can't apply any maturity instructions online and they won't accept verbal or email instructions, which leaves us with only one option given that the account matures in 5 days from the email date. Not a good way to encourage future business!

I'm happy that you are happy with this take it or lump it option!

Don't think anyone's after compensation. People just want either accurate T&Cs, or for them to adhere to the T&Cs published. But we've all had this conversation, so no need for you to bring up false accusations again
I don’t care if a provider offers a 13th payment or not. But I do care if they say they do and then they don’t. Principle 7 IIRC, stuff just needs to be clear, fair, and not misleading - as @surr@surreysaver says - this requires accurate Ts and Cs
Due to this transaction I've lost about 3p in interest :'(. I didn't really mind they got it wrong, I'm sure they've learned from this mistake and will take action.
