The "fuss" is about Gatehouse sending emails about maturity instructions that can't be applied by the account holder because they are not there (even though Gatehouse think they are there on their system) and included in the email a section that says ...... and I quote ...... "If we do not receive your maturity instructions ....... etc etc".subjecttocontract said:I'm happy to wait for my account to mature into an 'easy whatever' and have the money transferred to my nominated account. Don't see what all the fuss is about.
We can't apply any maturity instructions online and they won't accept verbal or email instructions, which leaves us with only one option given that the account matures in 5 days from the email date. Not a good way to encourage future business!
I'm happy that you are happy with this take it or lump it option!0 -
Due to this transaction I've lost about 3p in interestForumUser7 said:
I don’t care if a provider offers a 13th payment or not. But I do care if they say they do and then they don’t. Principle 7 IIRC, stuff just needs to be clear, fair, and not misleading - as @surr@surreysaver says - this requires accurate Ts and Cssurreysaver said:
Don't think anyone's after compensation. People just want either accurate T&Cs, or for them to adhere to the T&Cs published. But we've all had this conversation, so no need for you to bring up false accusations againsimonsmithsays said:
It wouldn't be surprising if people openly shouting on here seeking compensation (not just the lost pence) on the 'extra payment' has caused Gatehouse to have a rethink whether it's worth the time and effort.surreysaver said:
Perhaps they didn't want us lot with maturing regular savers opening a new one!Bobblehat said:
Yes, Gatehouse CS also confirmed that they are not offering a new RS at the moment. I forgot to say earlier that they would not accept verbal Maturity instructions, it needs to be in writing and with a "wet" signature, not email! As someone said earlier .... not their finest hour!pafpcg said:Bobblehat said:
Phoned this morning ..... the option (online) should be under the Regular Saver Account + "Account Options" ..... but it's not there. CS checked and agreed that it's not there and said sorry, it will be fixed, but in the meanwhile it will mature into an Easy Access account! Just delays things a bit, so not ideal.orange-juice said:Re Gatehouse maturity
If anyone receives more information about the maturity options thing, can you let us know on here please? Saves us all having to ask them about it☺️I checked the Gatehouse maturity options for this morning - no Regular Saver available. When not logged-in, the Regular Saver option under Savings says this:"We're sorry, our Regular Saver Account is currently under review. Why not view our Fixed Term, Easy Access, Cash ISA or Notice Accounts."
Wouldn't be a first time the MSE massive have shot themselves in the foot. And it won't be the last
. I didn't really mind they got it wrong, I'm sure they've learned from this mistake and will take action. 1 -

Is it about Gatehouse? I was under impression that the balance will be transferred to EA on maturity date and as far as I remember withdrawals arrive on the same day. Did I miss something in t&c?flaneurs_lobster said:
This "default" action will take 3 working days to move deposits + interest into your nominated account (which you'll have to do yourself). Might well be 5 lapsed days.subjecttocontract said:I'm happy to wait for my account to mature into an 'easy whatever' and have the money transferred to my nominated account. Having maturity instructions set would make this move to the nominated account occur on the maturity date.
I'd rather be using my £3600+ to feed other RS's on the 1st, rather than funding from other accounts.2 -

Not the most competent of organisationsI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
I hope they move it into my easy access account that is already up and running, I guess I will find out on Friday.

When I saw that there was finally an easy access account offered by Gatehouse I immediately opened it last week and connected it with my linked current account. So they SHOULD use it to move the funds from my regular saver when it matures on December 2nd (hopefully speaking).Bigwheels1111 said:I hope they move it into my easy access account that is already up and running, I guess I will find out on Friday.
