I am definitely being targeted (see my earlier post way back). Mitek were completely happy with my ID checks. YBS aren't.
Email today saying problems with my ID. One or more of them, they don't say which; invited to apply again!
Applied again. Mitek - Completed, ticks everywhere. YBS - TY, your verification is completed. We still have some checks to do.
Based on the previous email it will be either:
ID has expired (it hasn't) or doesn't match the N/A on the application (it does)
The uploaded ID isn't clear enough (it satisfied Mitek)
The selfie isn't clear enough (ditto)
The driving licence was used for both name and address (it wasn't as I also photoed a credit card statement)

All this for £50 at 8% LOLOL

My account was showing on the website but still setting up earlier today.
As it gave account details, I did a transfer from my bank - showed after a couple of hours as Credit and Cancelled Credit so you can't use the account before the deposit link works!
It now says that I can deposit so have repeated the transaction - fingers crossed!

Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?
  • I've just checked my YBS app, the £50 Regular is now showing in app.

I'm now wondering if I actually still need to give them ID to get it fully open, bare in mind usually when I apply for a YBS account it will show up in app same day then it will be a day or so until I can start depositing.

Will keep an eye on it anyway, maybe they messed things up or could be a big delay on it showing up in app or both, hmm 🤔
The account is opened if it is showing in app and if it is opened you can fund it straight away.
I've opened many YSB accounts and never had to wait for a day, I deposit as soon as account is opened and the money is showing in an hour or so.
Nah YBS like to do the pending further checks thing with me when I open new accounts so I get the restrictions on account/grey box thing on deposit in app, so have to wait to deposit.

I got concerned yesterday that it wasn't showing in app & thought maybe they changed things, but then I don't think YBS have asked me to upload ID etc before.

I've had a reminder email today to do the ID thing.

Yup I've had credit cancelled/rejected a few times, just try each day or something, credit should eventually get through

Downloaded form Monday, posted Tuesday. They called today 2:30pm to say all set up and account details for opening deposit.  Online withdrawals being set up to nominated account
I called Melton yesterday and received application form this morning.  They don't provide with prepaid envelope, but spending 85p is worth the offer.  I've included cheque for £200, that was the requirement outlined in the letter. Considering how quick they process things I might have my account opened by Friday or Monday next week unless they will ask for ID.

I was going to call and ask for one but didn’t get round to it today. I will just print one in that case.

£200 is the monthly maximum so it would be very odd if it was that or nothing. I haven’t found a stated minimum, hopefully they will accept an application with less as I don’t have £200 spare until month end.
