Where have others addressed their Melton applications to? The head office address or is there another that I’m missing?
Thanks0 -
I just used the address that was in my passbook for the NLA Regular Saver issue 4, in this case their Grantham branch. I don't think it really matters whether you send it to their head office or one of their branches, so long as it gets to Melton BS. IIRC the prepaid envelopes they've sent me in the past have all been addressed to their branches, same as Mansfield BS in that regard.Kim_13 said:Where have others addressed their Melton applications to? Has anyone received their passbook for the Issue 2 Exclusive yet? Sent my signature form off over a week ago now and nothing.
Had a conversation with a Virgin branch manager sometime back and he said the reason for removing the use of the passbook was down to the escalating cost of providing them. Of course perhaps they had a security feature that Monmouthshire doesn’t2 -
Not quite what I was told wet signature required but could fund account immediatelyPloughmansLunch said:
Ditto, when I phoned up Monmouthshire last week the CS guy I spoke to was adamant they needed an ink signature posted back before any transactions could be done.35har1old said:
I asked the same question and was told the exact opposite.DJDools said:

I've been waiting a week today for something in the post.mattojgb said:
Am I to understand that they had lost and/or had no record of your account opening? I applied last Wednesday and haven't heard anything from them. I may just go into a branch tomorrow.FishInGlass said:
The hard working gentleman was not doing that when I went in branch at 4.40 today. I phoned them earlier to find my online application from last Wednesday had gone walkabout. Went in and 10 minuters later had a new shiny passbook with £500 deposited. Normally it would take longer but as one lady said if I have already applied online I would have already seen the T&Cs.trickydicky14 said:

I’m bored this afternoon & keen to get MONBS up & running & 1 Sept SO set up before I go away for 3 weeks this weekend. ‘Pending’ has now disappeared so assume they’re busy crediting yesterday’s FPs. Got a mental picture of ladies in full Welsh National costume, entering figures in a huge ledger in beautiful copperplate script.badger09 said:
My £500 sent yesterday morning is not yet showing in MONBS RS account. Account just shows ‘Pending’, but no balance. I had expected it to be credited today.schiff said:
Signature letter dated 21/8 (day of application) received today and sent back today. Added the account successfully to the home page and sent £100 by FP today, intending to add £400 once it shows. Optimistic that it will be done and dusted in August for adding to it next month.badger09 said:MONBS RS
I applied for this 22/8 & received signature letter today. I’ve added account to ‘My Accounts’ & sent initial £500 by FP this morning. I’ll post signature form tomorrow & set up SO from 1 Sept as soon as £500 appears.
My Exclusive 1 matures on Friday but I wasn't prepared to risk waiting.Honestly, I’m not normally this obsessive & I do really like MONBS & Principality, even if they are a tad old fashioned. If it helps, and you have digital access to the mons.com website (or app?), then you can send them a digital image of your signatory form via secure message. I asked and they said they would be happy to accept this.
Explanation given requires a wet signature0 -
It did also mention that you could scan a send via email but is it a secure way of sending ID?csw5780 said:Kim_13 said:Where have others addressed their Melton applications to? The head office address or is there another that I’m missing?

You don't need to send ID unless they can't verify you electronically. They'll ask if they need it.2 -

The most complicated bit is the UV signature panel which of course wont be populated for postal/online accounts unless and until you visit a branch/agency.I've never had a Virgin Money one, perhaps they had a magnetic stripe or something which will have made them a more specialist product, but I imagine what the manger was alluding to was not the cost of the blank document nor the dot matrix printing device, but merely the cost of continuing to offer them at all when their internal systems no longer require them.I would suggest for most local/regional building societies the bulk of the set up cost will be labour.1 -
