Downloaded form Monday, posted Tuesday. They called today 2:30pm to say all set up and account details for opening deposit.  Online withdrawals being set up to nominated account
I called Melton yesterday and received application form this morning.  They don't provide with prepaid envelope, but spending 85p is worth the offer.  I've included cheque for £200, that was the requirement outlined in the letter. Considering how quick they process things I might have my account opened by Friday or Monday next week unless they will ask for ID.
I received my application form yesterday also without an envelope. I called and asked if they had a freepost address but was told they do not. Apparently envelopes are available on request but I decided I'd rather just get it on it's way so stuck a stamp on it and posted it first thing this morning.

    MONBS RS
I applied for this 22/8 & received signature letter today.  I’ve added account to ‘My Accounts’ & sent initial £500 by FP this morning. I’ll post signature form tomorrow & set up SO from 1 Sept as soon as £500 appears.
Signature letter dated 21/8 (day of application) received today and sent back today. Added the account successfully to the home page and sent £100 by FP today, intending to add £400 once it shows. Optimistic that it will be done and dusted in August for adding to it next month.
My Exclusive 1 matures on Friday but I wasn't prepared to risk waiting.
My £500 sent yesterday morning is not yet showing in MONBS RS account. Account just shows ‘Pending’, but no balance. I had expected it to be credited today.
I’m bored this afternoon & keen to get MONBS up & running & 1 Sept SO set up before I go away for 3 weeks this weekend. ‘Pending’ has now disappeared so assume they’re busy crediting yesterday’s FPs. Got a mental picture of ladies in full Welsh National costume, entering figures in a huge ledger in beautiful copperplate script.
Honestly, I’m not normally this obsessive & I do really like MONBS & Principality, even if they are a tad old fashioned.
Those hard working ladies are probably now tucking into a nice slice of Bara Brith and a cup of tea.
The hard working gentleman was not doing that when I went in branch at 4.40 today. I phoned them earlier to find my online application from last Wednesday had gone walkabout. Went in and 10 minuters later had a new shiny passbook with £500 deposited. Normally it would take longer but as one lady said if I have already applied online I would have already seen the T&Cs.

Am I to understand that they had lost and/or had no record of your account opening? I applied last Wednesday and haven't heard anything from them. I may just go into a branch tomorrow.
I've been waiting a week today for something in the post.
    Re: MONBS RS

If it helps, and you have digital access to the mons.com website (or app?), then you can send them a digital image of your signatory form via secure message. I asked and they said they would be happy to accept this.
I asked the same question and was told the exact opposite.
Explanation given requires a wet signature
Odd, I've used the digital upload of signed form via messages twice now.

Has anyone received their passbook for the Issue 2 Exclusive yet? Sent my signature form off over a week ago now and nothing.
I received mine, yesterday but it is just a waste of postage, as you don’t need it for anything

On the contrary, both my wife and I have needed ours for last year's Exclusive. I needed mine to close the account early (to get the interest applied to last tax year's allowance) and she needed to send hers back in by snail mail because the code they sent to manage maturity didn't work.
Keep them somewhere safe would be my advice!
My code didn't work so just waited to maturity date and then transferred  out no passbook required
Same here; the code for the maturity options didn't work, either, for two accounts.

I must've been the exception then, as I actually got a prepaid envelope.  I did specifically ask for one when I called on Monday though, so maybe wouldn't have got one if I hadn't have mentioned it.

I was going to call and ask for one but didn’t get round to it today. I will just print one in that case.

£200 is the monthly maximum so it would be very odd if it was that or nothing. I haven’t found a stated minimum, hopefully they will accept an application with less as I don’t have £200 spare until month end.

That's right, there's no stated minimum so £1 should be sufficient.  I've written £200 cheque only for a simplicity reason.  Sorry for this confusion, I meant the cheque is a requirement, not £200.

Cheque not required as “ Funding your account: I/we would like to open this account with an initial deposit of £ X

I/we will make this deposit by: Electronic bank transfer/Cheque/Cash/Other (Please specify)”

Sounds inconsistent. I did specifically asked for one and they said they can't provide it. I've asked on Tuesday morning so maybe they've ran out of envelopes by the end of Monday:)
  • Monmouthshire BS maturity - online maturity method using a security code is not working.
They told me they have an IT problem.
Been on holiday and insufficient time to post maturity form - I will withdraw manually the day after maturity.
August £500 went in ok to new MON Exclusive RS but standing order for £500 on September 4 (I thought I had allowed enough time for signatory form to reach them) was refused - "trancode 112".
They told me they would reinstate the payment and they have, back dating it to 4/9.

Might depend who handles your call. Some staff may be unaware that they can provide them for new openings/they aren't supposed to for that purpose and t1redmonkey got someone willing to make an exception.

The Monmouthshire BS scanned signature form vs must be a wet signature might be down to the same - that agent's take on whether it satisfies the processes as they know them.
