Hi (YBS 8% Reg Saver)
Why does it say you cannot add money from another YBS account. It seems odd you can't fund from another account.

Applied 21st August, received passbook 9th September.Kim_13 said:Monmouthshire BS
Has anyone received their passbook for the Issue 2 Exclusive yet? Sent my signature form off over a week ago now and nothing.1 -
Yeah, it clearly states that, however, it then suggests the option to transfer in from another YBS account for the first deposit 🤷♂️😂sheffieldeagle said:Hi (YBS 8% Reg Saver)

For the first deposit I transferred £50 from the Loyalty 6 access esaver 2023, as it is finishing soon. Definitely in the RS.wiseonesomeofthetime said:

Monmouthshire BS Exclusive Regular Saver 2 passbook - I received mine yesterday but OH has not received hers yet.You need the passbook to add to a postal maturity form if you use that method of securing your balance plus interest after 12 months.MON BS ERS2 @ 6% now NLA - that was quick!0

Presumably because allowing it wouldn't have much benefit for YBS - cash in existing accounts would just be recycled into this account, increasing the interest YBS would have to pay but not increasing the cash deposited with them.sheffieldeagle said:Hi (YBS 8% Reg Saver)

By requiring fresh money to be moved to them, there'll also likely be some inertia effect where people would be more inclined to start opening other accounts with them.1 -
I understand the fresh money thing but that's what I wanted to do. Halifax debit card £500 for my reward and then transfer £50. Just means I will need to do two payments but hey ho!k12479 said:

Fresh money is only possible if withdrawals were restricted. Regardless, internal transfers from existing YBS accounts are not only possible, but offered as an option for the initial deposit.
I also prefer sending to existing payees, and I experienced zero problems transferring to my existing YBS easy access account and then internally transferring from there.

I've been waiting a week today for something in the post.mattojgb said:
Am I to understand that they had lost and/or had no record of your account opening? I applied last Wednesday and haven't heard anything from them. I may just go into a branch tomorrow.FishInGlass said:
The hard working gentleman was not doing that when I went in branch at 4.40 today. I phoned them earlier to find my online application from last Wednesday had gone walkabout. Went in and 10 minuters later had a new shiny passbook with £500 deposited. Normally it would take longer but as one lady said if I have already applied online I would have already seen the T&Cs.trickydicky14 said:

I’m bored this afternoon & keen to get MONBS up & running & 1 Sept SO set up before I go away for 3 weeks this weekend. ‘Pending’ has now disappeared so assume they’re busy crediting yesterday’s FPs. Got a mental picture of ladies in full Welsh National costume, entering figures in a huge ledger in beautiful copperplate script.badger09 said:
My £500 sent yesterday morning is not yet showing in MONBS RS account. Account just shows ‘Pending’, but no balance. I had expected it to be credited today.schiff said:
Signature letter dated 21/8 (day of application) received today and sent back today. Added the account successfully to the home page and sent £100 by FP today, intending to add £400 once it shows. Optimistic that it will be done and dusted in August for adding to it next month.badger09 said:MONBS RS
I applied for this 22/8 & received signature letter today. I’ve added account to ‘My Accounts’ & sent initial £500 by FP this morning. I’ll post signature form tomorrow & set up SO from 1 Sept as soon as £500 appears.
My Exclusive 1 matures on Friday but I wasn't prepared to risk waiting.Honestly, I’m not normally this obsessive & I do really like MONBS & Principality, even if they are a tad old fashioned. If it helps, and you have digital access to the mons.com website (or app?), then you can send them a digital image of your signatory form via secure message. I asked and they said they would be happy to accept this.
