Well l switched my virgin account to another provider for the switch bribe, l mean offer. I have just opened another virgin account a hour ago. So l hope it doesn't get pulled.SavingsBoo said:
The regular savers linked to current accounts don’t seem to get withdrawn like the good ‘open to all’ building society regular savers but who knows! I guess having to open a new current account might put people off unless you’re an MSE forumite with a penchant for multiple bank accounts 😆[Deleted User] said:Does anybody knows if they will withdraw the virgin RS if it gets too popular to soon.

I also previously switched out of VM as their regular savers / savings products got non-competive.
So, needed to apply for a current account first. Said yes to the question "Do you have an existing current account with us?" which allowed me to use my stored login details. Requested a joint account. That bit went well.
Two regular savers just applied for, but encountered "technical difficulties" and accounts won't be available until in the morning... Still, better than being blocked at the current account application stage!

Virgin RS
When I saw an unusual amount of new posts this morning I realised that VM launched their promised RS before reading anything. My guess was it will be something like 6% or probably less. I've never expected 10.38% and the rate to be fixed. And it came on the date when BoE reduced base rate and a lot of providers were quick to announce reductions for their EAs.
Opening the account was easy. Didn't find the option opening in the app, did it online. Very quick and it appeared on the app straight away.1 -
Probably best to open sooner rather than later. While it’s 12 months, the maturity is 31/07/25. So might as well eek every day you can from it.[Deleted User] said:Does anybody knows if they will withdraw the virgin RS if it gets too popular to soon.0 -
You can't open directly from app, you can tap discovery, products, then exclusive rates/offers or scroll down to savings, the website opens in browserallegro120 said:Virgin RS

Yea I was wondering about the fact it gave a maturity date yet the account is advertised as 12 months, so unless you get it from day 1 you are losing out every day you don't have it OR is it another mess up by Virgin?🤔Marcoos said:

Why/how did you apply for two regular savers? Is one of them for someone else?financialbliss said:I also previously switched out of VM as their regular savers / savings products got non-competive.

I've closed mine.FishInGlass said:Nuggy96 said:Hmm my beehive RS matured today, I have to either leave £10 to keep it open or close the account to get all the cash. Any recommendation? Are people keeping it in case a good existing deal comes out?
I've left the £10 in as it seemed to be the quickest option. Can always close it later.0
