Just opened a new Virgin Current and Regular Saver with my Mrs (a new customer) and paid in £250.
    All in 5 minutes, simples!
    That's 2 accounts at 10%!

Thanks all. Relay sounds good but I can't get the hang of it.

I've tried as a new customer but once I complete the input of my details, they 'recognise' me and ask me to log in and that leads to the problem - again.

Has anyone got an email address for Virgin customer services? I'm struggling to log on - I know my customer number and password but they aren't accepted. Severe deafness restricts using the phone. TIA
The current account login portal is a username, try your email address as the username.

The customer number login is for the savings version of Virgin Money.

On the login screen try the enter personal detail option.

I don't know about an email address, but I had the same issue as I didn't have any active accounts. I needed to apply as a new customer.

I attempted to open a new CA and got the ‘we recognise you’ message. The problem is I did have two CA with Virgin and moved both of them some time back but the linked saver account still exists to this day with nothing in it. So it will not let me open a new account without logging in and I can’t find my old details.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

@DJDools, I did the same a month ago with a joint account. Opened two single current accounts yesterday for both myself and my husband so we can both have a regular saver each, and all went smoothly. Apparently you can only have one regular saver on a joint account which is why we went for a current account separately, so will be interesting if @financialbliss is able to open both.
Quick update. Despite "technical issues" yesterday, I've received an email this morning confirming the RS is open. My other half has also received a similar email. Checking both accounts, the account numbers are some way apart and are both showing as individual accounts, depite the current account and M+ saver showing as joint.

Note that under ithe VM additional info it says "You can only have one Regular Saver Exclusive at any time, this includes joint accounts" - wonder if that means that each individual can only have one RS, rather than you can only have one RS per current account.

    https://uk.virginmoney.com/savings/products/regular_saver_exclusive_issue_1/#additional-information.

Time will tell - inclined to leave for now. Haven't funded either RS yet - going to do so shortly.

Relay is widely touted by the banking industry as ‘an accessible option’ but it is widely recognised by the deaf community as not fit for purpose.

Deaf people are really caught up by these recognition loops because the means of contact that we could accessibly use to contact them are behind the login - such as secure message once you’re in.

The industry could do so much better than this.

Try the webchat - the small dark blue icon that floats at bottom right of the website and type that you want a human to break the bot. That might help? It’s what I do!

I'm still waiting on a phone call from Virgin Money in regards to their online form not allowing things to complete due to the address history 😌
  • @financialbliss, that’s good to know you got both regular savers on a joint account, I’d get both of them funded asap 😊
