    Virgin RS
When I saw an unusual amount of new posts this morning I realised that VM launched their promised RS before reading anything.  My guess was it will be something like 6% or probably less.  I've never expected 10.38% and the rate to be fixed. And it came on the date when BoE reduced base rate and a lot of providers were quick to announce reductions for their EAs.
Opening the account was easy. Didn't find the option opening in the app, did it online. Very quick and it appeared on the app straight away.
You can't open directly from app, you can tap discovery, products, then exclusive rates/offers or scroll down to savings, the website opens in browser

Does anybody knows if they will withdraw the virgin RS if it gets too popular to soon.
Probably best to open sooner rather than later. While it’s 12 months, the maturity is 31/07/25. So might as well eek every day you can from it.
Yea I was wondering about the fact it gave a maturity date yet the account is advertised as 12 months, so unless you get it from day 1 you are losing out every day you don't have it OR is it another mess up by Virgin?🤔

Virgin Money have launched a new account, called Regular Saver Exclusive, which pays 10.38% AER (fixed).

    - Pay in up to £250 per month
    - Maximum investment £3,000
    - Unlimited withdrawals permitted
    - The account can be opened online
    - The account matures on 31/07/2025.
    - The account is exclusively available to new and existing Virgin Money current account customers.  Your Virgin Money current account needs to have been opened on or after 04/12/2019.  Or, you originally opened your current account with Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank, such as a Signature Current Account.

Please see the following link here.
    Thanks

  • I also previously switched out of VM as their regular savers / savings products got non-competive.

So, needed to apply for a current account first. Said yes to the question "Do you have an existing current account with us?" which allowed me to use my stored login details. Requested a joint account. That bit went well.

Two regular savers just applied for, but encountered "technical difficulties" and accounts won't be available until in the morning... Still, better than being blocked at the current account application stage!

Why/how did you apply for two regular savers?  Is one of them for someone else?

Hmm my beehive RS matured today, I have to either leave £10 to keep it open or close the account to get all the cash. Any recommendation? Are people keeping it in case a good existing deal comes out?

I've left the £10 in as it seemed to be the quickest option. Can always close it later.
    I've closed mine.

Impressed with Tipton. My RS matured yesterday, my maturity instructions were to close the account and pay the balance to my current account at Santander. Money was there when I logged in at 7am this morning :)
I'm not. My maturity instructions were to close the account and pay the balance to my nominated bank, and the account (and therefore any reference to the funds) completely disappeared from my app's accounts on overview page first thing on 31 July, yet they were not showing in my nominated bank until much later on 1 Aug. Bit worrying for a moment or several hundred.
  • Oh nooo! Having had a current account with them for FOUR years, I switched out a week ago for the NationWide switch offer... Madder than a frog in a box?!

    RE Beehive RS

Have you received your money already? I went with close but it said it take 1-2 working days😞
You can withdraw ahead of requesting closure. Withdrawals to external nominated accounts are next working day. Whether that will get you your money any faster remains to be seen. We'll find out tomorrow...
    Beehive RS maturity
It turns out closure was no slower than withdrawing. Money was there this morning and no need to leave a tenner behind.

Sorry - badly worded. One joint current account to meet current account requirements and a regular saver for myself and wife.
