When I saw an unusual amount of new posts this morning I realised that VM launched their promised RS before reading anything. My guess was it will be something like 6% or probably less. I've never expected 10.38% and the rate to be fixed. And it came on the date when BoE reduced base rate and a lot of providers were quick to announce reductions for their EAs.
Opening the account was easy. Didn't find the option opening in the app, did it online. Very quick and it appeared on the app straight away.1 -

So, needed to apply for a current account first. Said yes to the question "Do you have an existing current account with us?" which allowed me to use my stored login details. Requested a joint account. That bit went well.
Two regular savers just applied for, but encountered "technical difficulties" and accounts won't be available until in the morning... Still, better than being blocked at the current account application stage!0 -

I've left the £10 in as it seemed to be the quickest option. Can always close it later.0 -
