I have no idea what’s happening with The Vernon.

The website has the 6.5% as locals only. They sent me a generic email advertising the account describing it as existing members plus locals. The link in the email goes directly to their website (not surprisingly) where it’s locals only.

Any existing members who are non-local who want the account might get in if they try. Or maybe 6.5% variable isn’t worth the bother.

Reference number for deposits - I did the first payment by debit card but when I've set up the standing order from Chase for the rest of the deposits I also got a warning about the reference number.  The first SO won't go out until beginning of next month so was just wondering has anyone pushed past the reference number warning and seen a payment go through successfully?  I've tried to read back a few pages through the comments but can't see anything apart from people having a similar issue, apologies if I have missed something.
Yes, I pushed past the warning and the money arrived to Progressive, no problem.
Just opened the Progressive Rainy Day Reg. Saver. Process went fine, but had to scratch my head a couple of times about the Authenticator. Funded the account immediately £25 by debit card. That showed immediately.
My nominated bank account could not be confirmed so I need to await a call.
Followed up with a second payment, a FP from my bank with account reference. That hasn’t arrived yet. Anyone know how long that takes with Progressive?

For Coop 7% RSA. I wonder whether you could by SO from external account directly to this saving account of it will need to use Coop current account as an intermediary ?? Thanks
I can't send it from my Co-Op account, so has to come from an external one

I think it's next working day. Paid in £280.00 last night, in the account just after lunch today.

I am an existing member but non-local and opened this from being logged-in to their online portal, with 'open new account'. Basically it pre-fills everything for someone at the society to check and create the account (which they will as you were already logged in as existing member). It took less than an hour for the email to arrive with account number and depositing details.

And although that email said that the account wouldn't show until the following day, it did, along with the associated easy access account.

I opened it as it isn't limited to 12 months - you can continue beyond that, by starting a new year off again.

I sent a second FP payment last Friday afternoon and it didn’t show in my Progressive acc until around Monday lunchtime

My FP arrived very quickly, I've checked it about 1 hour after sending and it was already there.  I did it in the morning, so not sure about afternoon/evening deposits.
