Regarding the Halifax Regular Saver. The T+Cs sent in the email confirmation state “You don’t  have to pay in every month”

The way I read the terms about minimum pay in is that you don't have to pay in each month, but if you do then the amount paid has to be between £25-250 (ie. you can't pay in less than £25). I've held this account in the past and there were definitely months where I didn't pay into the account, and I never had any issues. Never tried to pay in less than £25 though.

The logic of this has always perplexed me - the minimum monthly pay-in is £25, but you can miss months out. I wonder what would happen if you paid in a non-zero amount less than £25 in a month.

If we are still talking about Halifax, I've paid £10pm in for the last 3 months and heard nothing from them.

I did this with the TSB in error, and the faster payment was returned to me

Funny how TSB's systems work when they want them to

Same, disappointing they haven't emailed about it explaining what's going on. Wonder if they are actually aware or not.

DDs are only taken once a day, normally during overnight batch processes. If it wasn't taken this morning, the earliest it can next be taken is tomorrow (and then the same will apply until Friday, when the next possible day is Monday).

Pretty sure I did this with Halifax - it stayed in the Regular Saver, though it was paid in by internal transfer and I had increased the balance by £25 by month end (just not all at once.)
