No, perhaps they are gonna have to do them all manually? Maybe see if anything happens during opening hours.
The clearing and settlement period for Direct Debits means the bank paying the Direct Debit would have received the file on Friday. It's up to them when they apply it to accounts. There is no facility to manually pull a Direct Debit during the working day.

So either the banks are causing a delay (have other DDs gone out?), or they haven't submitted the BACS file.

Their email said they'd try again on Monday 8th, but funds are still in my account with no attempted DD. Normally they'd have gone by now. Anyone had them successfully taken yet this morning please?
    Nothing left mine yet

    Managing this account

    • You can save £25 - £250 every month by one standing order. This needs to reach your account before the 25th of the month. You can also make a bank transfer to top up your savings as long as the total amount of your deposits does not exceed the monthly limit of £250. The amount that you save each month can vary but needs to stay between the £25 to £250 monthly limit
    • You can only have one Regular Saver.

The above terms were received this evening by email from Halifax after signing up to the Regular Saver.
They are clearly saying that you must save at least £25 each month.
Are they also now saying that the regular monthly credit must be done with only one SO, and if less than £250 it can be topped up by an external or Halifax bank transfer to the account?

These terms are somewhat different from the terms posted by MDMD.
Maybe new terms for this year!!
This is common with regular savers.  There are many with conflicting terms or wording, and the banks' computers allow you to operate the accounts in ways contradictory to the terms as well.

They still haven't taken the direct debit from me either!

I don't know what the Co-Op have done, but I am unable to transfer the £250 from my current account to my regular saver this month.  Have had to set it up as a new payee, and even then its not saving the payee!

I have also found this.  I set up the regular saver as a new payee for the March payment but had to set it up again for the April payment and it's still not saved.  Next month I think I'll set it up from an external account.

Regarding the Halifax Regular Saver. The T+Cs sent in the email confirmation state “You don’t  have to pay in every month”

The way I read the terms about minimum pay in is that you don't have to pay in each month, but if you do then the amount paid has to be between £25-250 (ie. you can't pay in less than £25). I've held this account in the past and there were definitely months where I didn't pay into the account, and I never had any issues. Never tried to pay in less than £25 though.

The logic of this has always perplexed me - the minimum monthly pay-in is £25, but you can miss months out. I wonder what would happen if you paid in a non-zero amount less than £25 in a month.

If we are still talking about Halifax, I've paid £10pm in for the last 3 months and heard nothing from them.
