Just a quick one to complement Monmouthshire. Account closure requested, letter + passbook sent first class in Tuesday's post collection. Closed out passbook and cheque with balance and interest received today, sent first class yesterday.
Can't grumble at that turnaround. Their phone support has been excellent the couple of times I've used them too. Shame their systems are a bit 20th century but all-in-all I'm very happy with the service I've received from them.
I can't grumble either, in my case I did everything online. Last week I requested that they make a withdrawal from my Coronation RS for the full balance of the account to be carried out on 4th April. Account was closed yesterday with the full balance plus interest landing in my nominated account by yesterday teatime.

Well Monmouthshire has recently moved more into digital/modern banking.

I applied for a regular saver a while back not realising how old fashioned they were, tried to get my money out, the best they could offer was a cheque but even then there were issues, left it for a while then last year I rang them up & they arranged the money to go back into my Virgin Money account.

Has the new Gatehouse account launched? Can you hold both regular saver accounts?
Yes it has been launched. Their terms seem to be a little unclear about this point but I've just been able to open issue 2 of their regular saver a despite already holding issue 1. I've yet to fund issue 2 though.
    Hi @Bridlington1

Have you funded Issue 2 without any issues yet? Now we're in a new tax year, its probably worth me opening some 5%+ regular savers now, and this one is on my list to open, but I've got an Issue 1 already
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

    Their website does say
"To apply for an account you must be at least 18 years old, a UK resident (or resident in the UK for tax purposes). Only individuals can open an account and only ONE Regular Saver account is allowed per person. Joint accounts are not permitted. When your account matures at the end of the 12 month term, you may open a new Regular Saver account, subject to availability at that time."

Just opened the Coventry Loyalty Issue 2, as until this week I hadn’t opened any RS’s since January. I opened a Halifax one a few days ago, as looking at the rate history, they did change the rate at the beginning of the tax year a few years ago. It had been over a year since I opened my last with them (launch of 5.5% closed early to go into a fix) and didn’t want to miss the 5.5% boat. Won’t be fully funding either for the time being but it’s useful to have some maturity dates later than January 2025 and over different tax years.

I had passed on the Issue 1, due to having Monmouthshire and YBS at the same rate with better terms.

Maybe they meant ONE Regular Saver of the same issue? I don't know, but I've opened and funded issue 2, their system didn't stop me having two regular savers.
That's how I shall interpret the T&Cs is the systems have allowed it. After all, the website doesn't say "...of all issues"
