Unlike their BOS Monthly Saver counterpart paying the same interest rate, Halifax Regular Saver do not allow you to withdraws any money. I remember there is trick that you could close it and you get a correct interest until that day. And you could then reopen a new one. IS the trick still working. If not, what will happen if you cancel the account before maturity, do you still need another year before you could open the new one ?? Any lead to this will be very much appreciated.0

It works, as far as I know - ISTR there is a gotcha that it won't let you deposit in to a regular saver twice in the same calendar month, even if the previous deposit was to an account which has since been closed tho.

BoS reporting tech problems closing their RS - maybe Bank Hols related? The usual closure hack is still OK for HFax RS for me.2

Descrabled said:TSB have this peculiar set-up where you cannot transfer directly from the TSB current account to the regular saver. You can, however, send a faster payment from the TSB current account by adding a new payee, checked by COP of course.Ms Descrabled sends her £250 by faster payment from her Lloyds current account.
