Just remembered we had broadband for a while via a company called Be.
It wasn't so long ago, we couldn't get Sky BB in the road at the time - oh the joy when we could, Be. connection was utter rubbish.
I'm in the opposite camp ... I left BE when they got bought out by Sky. BE were the best (ADSL2+) ISP I ever had. Their customer service centre in Sofia was very good.

    Who cares?
    The OP.
And everyone else who bothered to answer the OP.

For questions I don’t care about, personally I just ignore them :)
I do have to wonder why the OP asks all these questions though across this forum and almost never actually responds, this type of activity is usually not allowed on forums but I assume this user has permissions for it here?

My memories from 2005 are not too good. I was with Telewest/Bluyonder, which later became Virgin, using dial up before I moved home in 2005. After moving I went to e7even for a around 2 years before moving briefly to another ISP that I cannot remember before moving to Be broadband which offered the best internet I have ever had. Be offered the best speeds around 7Mbit down/1.3Mbit up and excellent service. Then Sky purchased Be accounts from O2 the Be owner and then the problems began! I suspect that O2 sold off the accounts it could not change the terms on ie older accounts in order to get rid of them. I was very pleased with my Be broadband. Sky gave me around 4500Kbits/s down/ 600 Kbits/s up which was close to half overall and less than half for the upload with their router which is stuck on a shelf somewhere in my home.
Utterly pathetic! I did manage to increase that with my other router when I got that working to 7 Mbits down and 600-700 Kbits up. I am still looking pondering a move to a new ISP but it's a risk I have not yet taken.

  • Question to all previous posters , is this a technical question, then, of course it has had a lot of responses, but the OP https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/discussions/JackCork is a prolific poster without actually joining in. This of course is just my opinion and I still cannot work how to put someone on my ignore list, as was possible on the old forum platform.

To ignore someone click their username and it will open their profile page, you'll see a message box in black and to the right is a small red profile icon, click that and you'll get a drop down which has an option to ignore.

To be honest i don't look in to it that much. I know that is a habit of many on here but really i don't care. I see a question, i answer it or i don't and i move on. I may call back in to see what other answers have come in or i may not.

I do not however go checking out a posters history and see what i can make of it. I know many like to do that and many have done that with me. It's a habit i've never understood but each to their own.
