So your mother-in-law is the named Defendant.
I cannot help but think that you filing the AoS instead of her was the wrong thing to do.
I thought it was only legal professionals (of some sort or other) that could do that.
See what others say.1 -
She's 72, she doesn't have a computer, and SIMPLY would not be able to do this. I have to do it.

whilst your actions and help are admirable , I am troubled same as KeithP about this because I dont think you can do it either , she (or somebody assisting her) could have used the paperwork in the claim pack for exampleA solicitor can do so, as many do for claimants on their behalf , like Gladstones and B W LEGAL, but I know that all the advice on here in the last 6 years or more is that it has to all be done in the name of the defendant , unless you have an LPA that she has made ?you should seek legal counsel on this aspect because its not a known topic to this parking forumperhaps ask on legal beagles ?0

What has age got to do with it? Several others on this forum are older than that - me included.
Quite SIMPLY... you did not have to do it.
Can you not spell her name? It's an online form. could easily be sent by anyone - in her name.

When it comes to it, her Defence must be signed by the named Defendant.
It will be rejected if not. That may still happen with the AoS.1 -
guidance here on applying to be a litigation friendhttps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n235-certificate-of-suitability-of-litigation-friend

Please show us a proper draft of your defence, that should be based on a VCS Airport one already written, which don't contain much legal jargon but are properly written to cover all bases, which is what you need.
A defence is NOT the story of what happened in your own words - that will be your Witness Statement, later on.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So, the guidance above allows me to be the "litigation friend". Thanks.
The legal defence is the bit I needed help with. Is Southend airport covered by bylaws? Does anyone conclusively know as this fact alone is enough.

AFAIK all airports are covered by bylaws , a simple google search uncovers them from 1983

You are not the Defendant. Is Southend airport covered by bylaws? Does anyone conclusively know as this fact alone is enough.Yes of course it is - all major Airports in the UK are - and we have shedloads of VCS Airport threads which already tell you this, and show defence examples already written.
That fact alone is NOT enough.
Sorry. It really is not, we know what we are doing. Do not contest jurisdiction.
