Afternoon, I had a letter as well and noticed it said in small letters at the bottom that if you don't book online wait until your Dr calls you which they did. I hope you don't have to wait too long ff. I did not get a lot of sleep last night as kept going hot then cold and silly me I had the jab in the arm on the side I lie on. Never mind I will know next time. The nurse that gave me the jab said I would get a call in 8-12 weeks for the next one.
Glad to hear the fence is sorted Duncan, and your dad is getting good at remembering his mask.
We had gale force wind and rain all night. The wind is still strong but the rain has stopped.
I hope you have a good afternoon
    Stay safe

    Afternoon all,
Really windy here today with nasty showers occaisonally. Still managed a walk and got my vaccine. They were really organised and rushing me in although I was early and waiting outside! In and out in no time and only a mile from home so lucky.
Hope you get yours soon FF.
Indie, DH was the same feeling really hot. He slept well though so hopefully I will too. Haven't really been sleeping well since the start of all this
Glad you got yours leanfun. Think I would be one of the oldest getting mine today as most of 60-65s have already been done. Our health board doing really well.
Great you have your freedom again Duncan
We are trying to sort out the car insurance. Churchill trying to get an extra £50 out of us which isn't going to happen on a £180 policy! Going to lower our milage anyway as doubt we will be doing 14,000 miles this year. Only did 7,000 last year. Hoping to do about 10,000 if we get the chance to travel at all. Anyway got some other good quotes .

Evening.  Brilliant news FireFly that you have the appointment for Sunday and it’s not too far to go.

Hope you have a good night Sheils.   I made sure I had paracetamol and water on bedside table and like your DH I woke up but soon felt ok and went off to sleep and no need for any tablets.
Well I watched out for the postman today but no hay fever remedy arrived.  I phoned the company and they are going to repeat the order at no extra cost.  DH says he ordered something that was supposed to arrive last Thursday so problems with parcels locally.
Firefly I was sneezing this morning but not to bad later as I have not been out and windows closed.    It’s been windy here too today.

    Good Morning :)

Great that you have your jab sorted ff, I will think about you when out our long walk tomorrow, Dad is taking me to the seaside, not the beach though as that is just too far.
We have nothing planned today though Dad is baking his porridge biscuits later so we will need to get home so that he can mix it all up.

    Take Care

    Afternoon,
Been windy with heavy showers here today. Managed to get 11,000 steps in without getting wet though! Visited my parents with mum’s Mother’s Day present so I wouldn’t conflict with sisters taking theirs. Been lots of activity in our little town today, search helicopter, lifeboat, divers and police about. A 72yr old local woman has gone missing since late last night so not looking good.
She is a nice person so it is sad .
Glad you got an appointment FF. TBH I didn’t feel the jab at all. Did feel a bit nauseous and lightheaded a couple of hours after it though and then had to run to the loo! By bed time had a sore head and arm and was so tired. Was sleeping by 10.30pm and slept all night. Woke with bit of sore head and arm so took paracetamol and was fine. So nothing to worry about!
Won’t see any of my family tomorrow as too far away to be allowed and DD is working.
DD coming on Monday though so will celebrate then. DH says he will cook tomorrow.

Evening, that's sad sheils. I hope they find her safe and well. We have had heavy showers all day and it's very windy out. Your have to look forward to next year for Mothers day and hopefully, we will all be allowed to move around.
Glad to hear you have an appointment for your jab ff, my arm is still a little sore but nothing else.
I hope you got a little taster of the biscuits, Duncan, they do sound nice.
I have had a busy afternoon, giving the kitchen a good spring clean, hoping to get the bathroom done tomorrow.
Hope you all had a good day
    Take care

Hi FireFly your sister was unfortunate.   Most people if they have side effects they are mild.  A friend who lives in the Midlands told me a week before I had mine that when she had hers that she had been quite ill that night and next day.   That frightened me but how I felt after the jab was very mild.   I just thought that was nothing to what it might be if I had the virus.  Most of us on here have had mild side effects. I suspect we all had the Astra-Zeneca and I’ve heard people who have had their  second jab of this have had no side effects.    I’ve been looking and it’s saying on a number of sites that only 1 in 10 people have side effects.   Just think with the vaccine you will have some immunity if you caught the virus.   Our local centre was very upbeat with loads of volunteers and I came out of there quite uplifted seeing all those people paid and unpaid working to help rid us of the virus.  Hope you have the same experience FireFly.  We will be thinking of you tomorrow.

    Morning all,

Going to be another day of heavy showers, not sure if we will go very far.
No word of the missing woman , searching restarted this morning. Doesn’t seem hopeful especially since I heard she has been having some mental health problems. I have heard some scary mental health and drug  figures quoted in this area so if they are true for here some other places are bound to be horrendous.
Still feeling my arm sore, DH keeps telling me it will be because my immune system is working well. 🤔 Glad I got it in my left arm anyway!
Glad you came away uplifted at vaccine centre leanfun. We had local retired people at ours so felt very relaxed. It was only a local hall with just two nurses and two other staff. In fact two of the people were a married couple (nurse and helper) One nurse was actually my midwife/health visitor when DS3 was born.
Hope everyone has a good day x
