Afternoon, your bread and butter pudding sounds yummy leanfun. Don't worry about the 1lbs  put on. You are not making them every day and sometimes you need a treat. As you said it's not your fault it's Mary Berry's lol. Our weather is much the same as yours, it started sunny yesterday then the rain came and it's not stopped yet. It's only drizzling now but it's dark and cold out. I think they are sending the shielding letters out again as a few got them again at work last week.
I popped over nephews a couple of days ago and saw the eldest boy. Haven't seen him since Christmas before lockdown and he is at college now. He is the spitting image of my niece and has grown his hair long. He stood in the doorway and kept waving, lol
I haven't got anything planned today, just pottering around
I hope you all have a good day
    Stay safe

Afternoon.  Sunny here now but cold.   Yes, Indie pudding was yummy despite not following the recipe completely.   No cream added and we just have skimmed milk here.  I used an orange and not a Lemon for zest and added a some orange juice to the eggs and milk.   Some may remember the Pie in the Sky programmes.  The Inspector chef tried someone’s bread pudding in that and asked had she added vanilla and marmalade as he thought her pudding special.  Well we don’t have marmalade but fresh oranges.    I think I remember the comment as my mother only baked two things Welsh cakes and bread and butter pudding.

Indie your nieces’s son must have been so pleased to see you.  Strange how they look like their Mums.  My DH’s niece in LA has always looked like her but he’s now so tall. He goes to college in September.

    Take care.

    Good Evening.

Back in another cold snap here and dad is a bit depressed by things that are going on around him as well so we are not having a very good time this past week.
I just hope that he doesn't go back to comfort eating as it plays havoc with his sugar levels, I will need to keep a close eye on what he buys in Lidl tomorrow as they have snacking food on offer this weekend.

Leanfun, that Pie in The sky episode is one of dad's favourites as it always reminds him of his Mum's B & B pudding, something that he has never been able to make the same, it never had oranges or marmalede in it but did have vanilla extract it it was made with crusty bread rather than pan loaf.

    Take care

    Thanks Leanfun and FF.

Just been out for a walk before DD arrives. She is going to cook a chicken stir fry for dinner.
She makes a lovely one. Have had lots of nice presents and cards and my vaccine appointment arrived too! This isn’t exactly how I had planned to celebrate my 60th but sure it will end up the same way - with a sore head tomorrow! 😉
Anyway ,got some nice MacDonald hotel vouchers from DS1 so can plan how to spend them when we can eventually leave home.
    Hope everyone is well. X

Happy Birthday to all and may the sun shine above with the path smooth and straight ahead of you.

another setback for Dad but I am not going to let it spoil my day, I have having a great time chasing next door's cat from one window to the other, she is chasing the birds outside and I am chasing her from inside.
Fish for our dinner today (baked), there is enough for 2 in the packet so I am getting a share rather than it going into the freezer.

    Afternoon
Thanks for the birthday wishes. lol Duncan I can imagine you are enjoying chasing the cat. I took DS for his covid test this morning, he has to have it before being wired up Wednesday and swallowing the radio pill. It's sunny at the moment so I have got washing out and another load just finishing.
Hope your all having a good weekend

    Good Afternoon (just)
We had a walk all the way to Screwfix earlier only for Dad to realise that he had forgotten his mask so we could not collect the order, will need to go back tomorrow.
I had to watch today while Dad was making a cringeworthy fundraising video for Freegle, I left the room after the third effort so I am not in the video, Mungo is though, doing his bit to give some moral support, even if he did take up more than half the screen. Still waiting on approval from the board so Dad's minute of fame is still 'in the can'.
Beef & rice for my dinner today, this is great, with Dad's diet and now the broken teeth, I am getting all the good stuff before it goes off.
