Afternoon All
It was hard going getting through the snow with very few of the footpaths having been cleared. There is a slight thaw going on here now that the sun is out but I think that may make walking even more difficult as there will be slush and that can be quite slippy at times. It's snowing again now so I am not getting out for the walk we usually have at this time and it also is looking like the bin men won't be coming today so I will miss out on a barking session as well.
Take care.2 -
Morning, sorry you missed out on your walks and barking Duncan, your have to have an extra loud bark when the bin men come again. I had one of those days yesterday, went to put a prescription in, got halfway there, and realized I left a mask in the car so back I go to get it. I went shopping then went back for prescription and did it again, it was not a mask day, lol. I usually put them in my pocket but for some reason didn't yesterday. I don't know why Dr has changed the way they work again as when the pandemic started she use to send prescriptions straight to the chemist but now seem to be back giving them to you to take in.
We have no snow here.it did try a couple of times yesterday but never happened. I saw some temps were very low last night.
Hope you wrap up warm if you go out today

Good Morning
We all have days like that indie but the older we get, the more often they happen, at least your mask was in the car, when Dad forgets his, it is a mile and a half away back at home.
-5 degrees here at 8am but other than that it looks like being a nice day.
With Dad not eating now you wouldn't think there could possibly be anything wrong with his teeth but no, he has to go and get a toothache and the earliest appointment available is 1 April, it is going to be a long 6 weeks

Morning. Sun is out here now so might melt some of the snow that’s still lying around.Really sounds like one of those days you had yesterday Indie. Strange how the Doctor has changed the prescription routine. It’s so much easier if they go straight through to the chemist. DH is trying to get tablets. He phone the Chemist last Friday and asked them to put order in but yesterday they didn’t have prescription and said he didn’t need them yet. He said he’s running out today. He did ask them to deliver. He was offered delivery last year but we have managed to collect. It’s still 1 degree here and was very cold last night so he’s not going out.Not as cold as your way Duncan brrrr... sorry to hear about Dad’s toothache. 1st April sounds like a life time away. Let’s hope they have a cancellation. They should have some emergency appointments. 😂
It’s my friend’s funeral today. I think her family will make it a good celebration of her life. We are fortunate to be able to watch on streaming. DD1 was going to go but lives some way away and there’s a lot of ice still on the side roads and she’s still getting used to the car. So I am pleased she’s decided to watch on internet too.Take care.4 -
Morning,Really frosty out this morning. Got to nip to Tesco for a few things but will wait for car to defrost!DD coming for dinner and staying the night. It will be at least 16 days since she caught the virus and she went back to work yesterday. Will be nice to have someone in the house. Have lots of chats with the neighbours (everyone walks all the time!) when we meet but not the same.We havent forgotten masks yet indie. Usually get to the door and one of us says "have you got your phone, bags and masks?" Did forget a bag the other day but wasnt going for anything important. Think all our prescriptions here are sent through to the chemist.Sad you can't go to funerals nowadays leanfun. We were going to go and see a funeral cortege the other morning but it was so cold and slippy and it was passing down the road at 8.45 so I'm afraid we stayed in bed.Sorry about your dads tooth Duncan. Hope it improves before 1st April! Have heard that dentists are about impossible to get at the moment. We are private and it costs us £15 a month each not because we want to be private but NHS was impossible to get. We paid it so that our kids could get treated and always heard such bad reports of the female NHS Polish dentists who came here that we stuck with it. Was considering changing just before the start of this Pandemic as DD found a good NHS dentist 30 miles away in Dumfries but luckily didn't change as she cant get a check up now.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Good Morning
Dad used to be private for the dentist sheils but when the dentist retired Dad stopped the policy as he could not find another one close to home that did the same scheme (Denplan)
Positively roasting here this morning at zero degrees, I don't think it got any higher than that all day yesterday so we should be in for a bit of a thaw, that will bring the slush to the fore and that is horrible to walk in.
I wish I had something posistive to post about but everything seems to be on the back foot at the moment.
Take Care.

Morning. Pleased to say our snow has nearly all gone and we can boast 1 degree but -5 tonight. Next week they are forecasting double figures. Duncan don’t like the idea of walking in slush. I think it might be some shorter walks today. Know what you mean about nothing positive. It sometimes seems as though we are going backwards. Even though there’s not a lot to say I’m grateful we have the technology to keep in touch. Hope your toothache is not too bad. I’d keep on to the dentist.Yesterday DPD tried to deliver a parcel before 8 am. It might be one of the two lots of books I won. Just found email to say they will deliver at lunch time.
Sheils my friend lived around the corner from us. So the cortège went past here. We stood in the porch and it was a bit odd as everyone waved to us.Take care.4 -
Morning suns out here and it's 1 degree higher than yesterday. It was 0 yesterday, lol. I saw that about the weather going to be in double figures next week leanfun, roll on next week. That was a bit odd everyone waving but maybe they just wanted you to know they saw you.
Hope your dad's toothache isn't too bad Duncan, he could ring them up and ask if there is anything he can do to ease the pain.
Great your DD visited sheils, can't believe it's 16 days since she caught the virus, where does the time go. I hope she had a good first day back.
I had a win on the mags daily, won a £50 voucher for a photo book site. It's my first win this year, and my son won some earphones on a mag daily as well. That cheered us up.
Have a good afternoon
Stay safe

Well done on the win indie.
Not a win for us but we did get £50 from one of the survey companies that we do for, that will go towards any treatment costs for Dad's tooth.
It's a little better today but he still can't eat properly.
Have Fun3 -
Another late one for me tonight but at least it’s half term so I can relax now! I had an online PD day today through zoom doing courses and safeguarding but the dog was so naughty jumping in on the zoom and kept finding squeaky toys! It was embarrassing, naughty dog!
Love the snow pic DuncanWe had a good bit of snow so built a snowman and I even went sledging to the hill up the road! Haven’t done that since I was a kid so was good fun. It wasn’t busy and everyone who was there socially distanced so it was nice to exercise outdoors!
Indie, well done on the mag win and sons headphones winKeep it up!
Sheils, glad DH has finally had vaccine and hope DD has recovered now too. My sis and her DH and 2 Dd’s Now have it too. Just saw on the news the South African variant is pretty close to us now too.I got my vaccine 2 wks ago but someone put on social media vaccines going free at the hospital so lots of different people turning up without an invite for one. It was manic there!
Sorry about your friend Leanfun. That was a nice gesture that the family waved to you too.
fire**fly, hope you are keeping well and staying safe too. I can’t wait for summer to be back out in the garden. This lockdown has been harder for everyone I think.
I’m hoping to get busy next week and strip the wallpaper in dining room. I’ve never liked it since we put it on but persevered with it. DH doesn’t know yet we will be decorating!Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!3
