Morning.  I’m trying with hot lemon drinks again today.  I can’t do lemon and honey but lemon with a little sugar.  Hope it’s going to clear the chest or I’ll have to phone the doctors again.  Duncan’s Dad sorry to hear about your meeting with the nurse.  I wish they were all like the young Doctor I saw at the special clinic the other week.  He was so efficient but I felt he was listening and responding to what I was saying.  Would love to have a GP like that.  I’m lucky I don’t often have to go to the Doctor’s.     Shame about your Zoom meeting.  It’s frustrating when the Wifi goes down.  We had a zoom meeting last week and the host had everything on mute and didn’t realise so that was funny.

Sausages sound good.  We don’t have them often but I’ve ordered some from the butchers.  Sadly the prices have all gone up.  Beginning of lockdowns last year I found this butcher who was supplying hotels and restaurants and the meat was great and good prices.  They took on home deliveries and all was good until they had too many customers and computer problems.  So now they have found someone else to take over the ordering and deliveries. Hence higher prices still it is good meat and all UK.

Seems insurance are working fast on DD1’s car.  She’s been on to DH talking about replacement car.    It’s stressful for her as she’s by herself with GS and she’s having a rough time with him.  Fortunately he was not in car with her, she was on her way to pick him up from school.  Indie like you she was shaken up.
Well sun has just come out here.
    Take care all.

    Morning,

We have snow today which is a shock for us as we seldom get it here. Strong winds as well which is annoying.
DD just starting to feel better today. It has been worrying as it has taken a week for her to say that. She says everyone else she has heard of having it after the jab has hardly had any symptoms though which is better news.

I hope you will be better soon leanfun.
It won’t be the best time for your DD to look for another car, stressful enough at the best of times. Hope she finds something soon.

    Enjoy your time off indie.

Statues can be annoying Duncan, hope it doesn’t scare you again!
Not a sausage fan TBH, bacon more my thing.

    Good Morning :)
Blustery morning after a wild night with bins being blown over and rain hitting the windows so hard that I could not sleep even at the other side of the house.

Dad got his blood test results back and it looks like he is going to have to stop eating, his HbA1c levels have jumped up 15 points and this in spite of starting a new med that was supposed to help reduce the numbers.
No more bread, tatties (in all forms), sausages and worst of all, he will need to stop baking, just when he was getting good at it :(
I hope that I still get my usual food though.

Morning. Dull morning here but quiet night not like yours Duncan.   Sorry to hear about Your Dad’s blood results.   Stopping eating sounds really drastic.  Sounds like fruit and veg are on the menu big time.  Sorry about him having to stop baking.  To be truthful I was loath to start baking again as a friend who did and was amazing at it put on loads of weight.  Here when husband went to the shops he was buying loads of sweet things so I thought well if I do a bit of baking we could reduce the sugar and fat content.  Duncan’s Dad hang in there I’m sure you can find some tasty things to cook.

Sounds as though there has been lots of snow different places.  Sheils hope snow your way doesn’t last long.  Pleased to hear your DD is starting to feel better. I had a letter yesterday from NHS to say I could go on line for a vaccine appointment. They seem to have started with the over 70’s in our area but I will have to wait till chest is back to normal.

    Take care all.

    Morning,
Bucketing down here and still very windy. Snow long gone though!
Bit of good news is that DH has got his vaccine appointment for next Tuesday morning in a local Pipe Band Hall. That is where I got my flu jab too. It is nice and handy. Our area hoping to have finished the over 65s by middle of month but will believe it when I see it! If they go onto the over 60s too fast I won’t be included anyway as not 60 until 6th March so won’t help me!

It is annoying when you try and eat healthily and it doesn’t help Duncan. Hopefully your dad will think of other things. I am a big salad fan but it isn’t exactly salad weather at moment. Sea bass is another favourite. I never bake though as would eat to much of it. DH making homemade wholemeal bread in the bread maker today though.😁

That is a shame you can’t get your vaccine just now leanfun. Must be so annoying for you.
Poor Sylvia had her appointment for yesterday and couldn’t get for the snow. Now she is struggling to get an appointment near her. Hope you get it soon anyway.

Afternoon, no snow here just plenty of rain but it has stopped now and the sun is out. Oh, dear Duncan, I hope your dad can eat a few things he likes. It's annoying that he likes baking and eating the end results but has been told it's a no-no now. I think your be alright with your food, just the treats will stop.
Let's hope you can have your jab soon leanfun, there was talk yesterday that if they carry on getting the numbers jabbed they may have everyone done by May. Now that would be great.
Good news about your DH jab sheils, if they go past 60's you can always ring them up in march and ask if you can have yours once your birthday is here.
    Have a good afternoon
    Stay safe

Good Morning from a warm but soaking Fife but worse to come this weekend it seems.
Dad got a letter from the nurse, she wants to speak to him on Monday about his blood results, that can't be good.
Steps have been made already to change his diet and he has lost 2kg in 2 days but it has come at a price, the change has affected his Crohn's and that has been playing up something rotten so we are not getting out as often as I would like.
It's not the sugar in the baking that is the problem, it's the amount of carbs that are generated.

I hope everyone gets the jab when they become due, no sign yet here that they have started to give it to anyone outside of a care home or key worker status.

Afternoon.   Yes Duncan weather forecast for weekend seems to be bad all over.  We have a sunny breezy day here.   Well done on your Dad’s weight loss in two days but a big price to pay if it is affecting his Crohn’s.  Hope news is not too bad in Monday.  If it’s the same nurse as before try to get her to slow down.    Interesting what he says about it being no of carbs.
Great news here I’m beginning to feel a bit better.  Chest is not wheezing at all.  Having said that I’ve overdone it this morning even though I didn’t do that much.   Yesterday morning I had thought about contacting the GP again then in the afternoon I felt better.
Our DD1 has found a new to her car just hope it keeps going.  A bit like you Indie she decided quickly as it’s hard time when you can’t go looking.
Yesterday I had an email to say I have won a gressingham cook book.  Seems there were 250 winners.
    Take care.

    Afternoon
Well done on the win leanfun. Glad to hear your DD1 has found a car, that's another worry taken care of. You will have to take things easy till you feel 100% better or your be back to square one.
Not good news about your dads  Crohn's Duncan, my DS has it and often has flare ups. He has had so many tests over the last 3 years as they can't decide if it's in his lower bowel or higher. He is waiting for another appointment to take the radio pill again as last time it went through him too quickly and they didn't get the whole picture. I hope your dad's Crohn's settle down soon.
I have been pottering around this morning, it's great to see the sunshine after the rain we had all day yesterday. They are not sure if the snow will reach us over the weekend but temps will be very low.
Hope you all have a good afternoon

The Crohn's flare-ups still happen even though the infected part of the bowel was removed a couple of years ago, they can be put down to the food eaten and although not as bad as they were before the op, it can still catch dad unaware like it did this morning when he did not quite make it home in time. still a shower and change of clothes and we were back out to finish the walk and for me to do my stuff.
It was the GP that upset Dad on Monday past leanfun, he still thinks that he said something that was not wrong with him instead of what the problem actually was, he was a bit kerfuffled with ho fast she was going.
The carbs thing is important for diabetes patients as they get into the blood stream slowly and push up the sugar levels a lot more than the sugary stuff does, it was recommended to Dad to eat a packet of crisps rather than a mars bar if his sugar levels were down below the safe level, not sure if that advice is right for everyone though.

Rain here all day again, and it does not look like stopping anytime soon, we are getting another 'Beast from the East' this weekend and with us being so close to the east coast it could get a bit dodgy by Wednesday if the forecast is right with snow starting tomorrow and going right through.

    Happy Days
