Good Morning
Back to sub zero temps again, as always, as soon as the rain stops, the ground freezes over.
We had a family Zoom last night that included aunt and uncle in Vancouver, Dad was the bump at their wedding 61 years ago. It was good to see everyone but an hour is not long enough to get all the news, having said that, it was the third Zoom in less than a year and that is a lot more than we would normally meet up.
Sorry to hear that sheils, it must be terrible to get the virus knowing that you have just had the vaccine but hopefully it will keep her from the worst of it, just shows though that we are a long way from being over this thing.
Destination unknown for our walk today but I'm sure that we will get there without too much trouble.

Hi Billbo welcome to the forum. Over five years ago when I started comping I didn’t win anything for four months but then had some brilliant wins. Over the last few years wins for most of us are seldom. It’s a matter of luck but there might be fewer competitions certainly web ones and lots more people entering. Having said that I still find it a good hobby. For me it’s a case of enter and forget. Tips if you stick to the forum for web comps you can tick off the ones you have entered so that you are not entering twice. I only enter for things I would like to win for family or friends. When I started I remember someone saying enter as many different comps as possible for example the magazines daily. The social media comps have lots of small prizes and lots of people entering. There’s no magic formula but we can all keep dreaming. Good Luck.Duncan hope you had some good walks today. It’s rained here all day. Duncan’s Dad great you caught up with family on zoom. I’ve had a lot of phone calls today and FaceTime with my sister no voice left. Thankfully my sister is better now but her DH has a daughter in hospital with the COVID she’s 48 so yes, a long way to go still with the virus. I long for the day we can just go out.

Evening all!Was quite a nice day here - sunny but with a cold wind. Been doing quite a bit of walking and dragging DH with me. Think he is fully recovered now and just about keeping up.DD is still feeling pretty bad but no serious sounding symptoms just like a bad cold or flu. Her friends, colleagues and neighbours have been bringing her so many food supplies she doesnt know what to do with everything. No word of DHs vaccine yet which is annoying, Scotland following behind the rest of the UK by looks of it.Glad you are keeping up with family, Duncan and leanfun.I must admit I mainly just send messages. DD and I usually talk quite a lot throughout the day. Will miss her visits and her dad really will too. DS3 working 3 days which is good as he was feeling so depressed. As a chef he was used to working a ridiculous amount of hours every day.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Good Morning
A slight covering of snow everywhere this morning but the sun is shining in a clear blue sky so that should melt quickly (maybe).
Nothing planned again today so we should manage that, Dad has a little work to do in the garden, he just needs a kick up the bum to get him out there then I will supervise from the window.

Morning a bit dark here still. Hope your snow has gone Duncan. Well it’s the beginning of another month. Do hope we are able to go out a bit this month. DD1 had some bad news yesterday the insurance are writing off her car. It was a big Nissan pick you up that crashed into her. He took the corner too fast and smashed into her car on her side of the road as she came to the junction. Fortunately she wasn’t hurt only shook up. Her car was old but in good condition. She needs a car to take GS to school as they live a long way from school.Sheils sorry to hear about your daughter but great it has not been too bad. So pleased your DS has a job even if part time. It must be so hard being at home with no income.Indie hope you didn’t have too bad a weekend and care rest now.Take care all.3

Good Afternoon
Snow drizzle on and off here all morning, it never really got heavy enough to lie but the cloud cover has lifted the temp up to almost 3 degrees so no bad thing.
What was a bad thing was Dad's visit to the GP this morning, she spoke and moved about so fast he felt like he had not even been there and that was in spite of asking her to slow down. She never addressed half of what was told to her but she seemed obsessed with the symptoms that suggest a hint of asthma and prescribed an inhaler and some kind of test kit. Dad was away and almost at Lidl when the phone rang, it was the surgery saying that he had left without the wrist brace/support that the GP had looked out for him, he was not even aware that she was getting it as she had not said anything just dashed away while he was putting his jacket on. The last Dad knew about his wrist was her telling him to use my lead on his other hand.
I now have to take Dad back to the chemist to collect all the items ordered, he will need his rucksack
It's rotten to be without a car when you are so used to it being there any time that you need it, I hope the insurance payout is a decent value leanfun, they so often under value cars that are written off.

Afternoon, another busy weekend at work, off now till next weekend. Sorry to hear your DD test was positive sheils but as she had the job they shouldn't be as bad as if she had not had the jab. Great your DS has a job after so many disappointments.
Your DD must have been shaken up after the crash leanfun, I know I was and both cars were small ones. So pleased to hear she wasn't hurt.like Duncan said I hope the insurance pays out well and fast.
I hope your dad got everything at the chemist Duncan. I went to Lidl to pick a few things up earlier, there were not many shoppers around so I was in and out quickly. I got my washing done this morning and am now playing catch up with comps.
Hope you all have a lucky month

Good Morning
Showery here but quite warm at 2 degrees.
A crazy concrete sculpture that we have walked passed a hundred times jumped out at me this morning and almost scared the 'freshwater fish' out of me, it too Dad a minute to work out what it was that had scared me but I knew, and it really did jump at me for no reason.
We had a Zoom meeting last night or I should say that we tried to, almost as soon as we got in everything froze, pictures first then sound then the whole screen so we left, tried again later but this time it crashed the PC so Dad switched off and watched TV for half an hour leaving me to look at the frozen screen. Seemingly it was a very good meeting and everyone had lots of fun doing a quiz, we are feeling a bit hard done by this morning
Sausages for breakfast though and that is enough to cheer anyone up.
