Morning very frosty here and brr.   Thanks Duncan and Happy Hogmanay to you too.  Hope you get the shopping you want.
Yesterday evening I had DS on phone having a go about the government advisor who said don’t have parties wait till next year.  There’s son going it’s end of year no time left to wait .

Bit of nightmare here yesterday. Waiting for Iceland shopping delivery which I thought was between 6 and 8 at 7.30pm I looked up email and delivery time was 06.00 and 08.00 I phoned them up they couldn’t tell me what happened.  This morning I’ve found out they did deliver between those times and it’s been stolen.  They take a picture of shopping on door step and description was our door.  Waiting for a call as they said they would redeliver at no cost as they should not leave on door step when there’s no answer. We have a Flint Stone door knocker and sleep the other end of the house and hearing is going so didn’t hear any knock.   What happened when ordering the reservation for 15.00 - 17.00 time ran out and when I went back to complete the order it said next available order and I thought 6 - 8 pm and accepted!   Whoever took it probably was on way to work so early in the morning but it won’t help them much as I was mainly ordering different types of bread and odds and sods it wouldn’t make a meal.  We have one loaf left in freezer and I have a bag of flour and some dried yeast if needs be.  Lesson learnt.  Ho to be with it.

Sheils yesterday ExDIL took the children to fort of Dunadd she posted some beautiful pictures on Facebook.   Looking up on the map it looks quite a long drive from them.  They climbed quite high so it must have been cold.  Pics show some ice.   She said in the distance was Jura photos were amazing.
Hope everyone is warm. Take care all.

Morning been trying to post the cat gave up and just tried again and it worked. Sister in law in LA sent it.
Duncan pleased you were able to get all your shopping. Great the gritters have been out. No snow here but DD2 has a thin layer of it in Southampton.   Yesterday 5.30 knock on door it was Iceland with the delivery.  So plenty of bread here now lots in the freezer.
Keep warm all and take care.

Happy New Year everyone, love the cat picture. It was quiet here last night compared to other years so at least some people were following the rules. Glad to hear Iceland replaced your shopping leanfun, hope the person that stole it feels guilty. Karma will catch up with them as I believe in "What goes around comes around".
Glad all your ice has gone Duncan, and all the shopping has been done.
I took my son's GF to work and popped in for some milk and bread and it was very quiet in there. Most of the till staff was twiddling their thumbs. I think everyone has run out of money now. It's cold here today but no ice and the car temp was fluctuating between 1 and 0. It finally settled on 0.
Hope you all have a good day
    Stay safe.

    Happy New Year all,
Pretty cold here. Been doing our walking after lunch after the frost melts as we live up a couple of hills and it can be pretty slippy. My aunt fell going out to feed the birds yesterday but luckily no serious damage but at 88 it will take her time to properly recover.

We sat up to see in the New Year and had a few drinks but that was it. Didn’t see or hear any sign of life outside. Normally at this time young people are back seeing their families and you hear them getting back up the road after seeing friends they quite often only see once or twice a year.
It is the only time we normally hear anyone as most of neighbours are like us or older.
So sad we have come to this stage again so quickly. The thought of being in lockdown for another 3 months or so is so depressing. Worried about people’s mental health, especially the young.

We have a fly buzzing about , goodness knows where that came from!

Anyway, wishing you all a great 2021 , when we finally restart our lives.

Happy New Year and all the best for 2021!
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

  • Happy new year all. I'm not sure I've got my head around t being 2021, last year just seemed to be on pause. I spent two days in bed freezing cold and feeling a tad under the weather, Taken a test as I do not have a sense of smell and my taste isn't as great because of it (Born like it) . Probably nothing as my asthma isn't any worse.
Ice not defrosting here during the day as the village is in a "sleepy hollow", you can drive down either side of the surrounding villages and often you can't see us if there's fog which doesn't fully lift all day sometimes. You keep expecting the  four horsemen of the apocalypse to come riding out.
Have a good day all x

    Good Morning :)
It snowed all through our first walk this morning then stopped again just as we got home, we now have clear blue skies and a cold wind.
I think that Dad may have finally got the message at 3am today that he really should lose weight, he broke a toilet seat hinge when he sat down. This meant that we had a walk to Homebase to get new ones but at least we got them on click and collect so no searching the place for them.
This means that I will miss out on at least one walk while he fits a hinge, it's a room that I am not allowed into so I can't help him but as he says it will mean that the job gets done twice as quick if I don't help.
    Take Care.
