Good Morning Saturday
It is a full 10 degrees warmer here today from yesterday but with that has come the rain, we won't get the full force of storm Bella here but watch out for the flooding that is likely to arrive in your area at some point today.
We walked past a shop this morning that on normal days is open at 7am, Dad was surprised to see 4 cars pull up in front and one gent on foot arrive all expecting the shop to be open, are they daft or are we?
I had a bit of the fresh bread yesterday and oh my how nice that is, so different from the packaged slice loaf, I am not surprised that Dad does not make it too often as it does not last any time at all. He sliced the bottom half of the loaf for later and then used the top half as a bowl for his chili soup.
I had to settle for roast beef and boiled rice.

Afternoon. Merry Christmas to you too 3forholidays hope you and the family are all well and have a restful Christmas time after this last year.My Duncan that is a great rise in the temperature. Feels cold here. Been looking at the pictures of flooded areas on the internet feel so sorry for the people there. Agree with you about shops opening today. Saw that Aldi’s were closing today to give their employees a day off. Your description of fresh bread made me feel hungry. Before our youngest went to school I baked all our bread for three years. I had forgotten about it until earlier this year neighbour across the road said how they loved it when I took them fresh bread and her husband had loved the malt bread. I have no recollection of making malt bread. I do remember putting vitamin C tablet in wholemeal bread. The first shop along the road used to be a bakers and they would sell you fresh yeast. Ho Ho don’t know if my hands are up for the kneading but I might have a go in the new year.
Hope everyone had a good day yesterday.Take care all.3 -
Happy Boxing Day everyone!
Hi Duncan - I’m another Scot so I’ll give you a wave across the Forth.

Good Morning
Back to the sub-zero temps today and it is snowing right now although there is blue sky all round so I don't know where it is coming from.
Dad uses a breadmaker machine leanfun, I doubt he would do it at all if not for that as his hands could not cope with all that kneading.
Now that Santa has finished with Rudolph, we were able to get some venison grillsteaks and sausages reduced in Lidl this morning, there will be some for later today and the rest in the freezer.

Afternoon. Brrr sounds cold your way Duncan. Interesting about bread maker we were given one ages ago and don’t know what happened to it. Well done on your shopping trip grill steaks and sausages sound good.
It was very windy here in the night but everything seems ok. Feel for the many who have been flooded or effected by the storm,
Excitement here this morning I spotted a blue tit in the garden. We have not seen blue tits for ages. It’s sunny out there now. Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi all,Had a busy Xmas with most of the family here apart from DS1 and his GF who were at the beach in Oz!Hope everyone enjoyed their Xmas. We are munching our way through the leftovers. With 2 chefs cooking there is so much!Really upsetting to be in Tier 4 now after being in Tier 1 for a couple of weeks. Think we have had an outbreak of this new virus about 40 miles away so large surge in cases. Hope they hurry up with the Oxford vaccine as no-one here seems to be taking much notice of the rules or rather sticking to the original rules. Extra cars parked outside so many houses. Think the threat of stay at home and travel bans going into law in Scotland has made everyone more determined to see each other before it does. Feel for the families that are just over the border from each other as cant see that rule being relaxed for a while. There must be places where you can walk to see each other especially between the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Know we have walked across the border in places. My DH makes bread too Duncan although he hasn't lately as the price of flour has rocketed. How are you 3forholidays, not "seen" you for a while?Glad your back is getting better indie and hope your new car is going well.Hope you got to speak to all your family at Xmas leanfun.Anyway, the winds have died down here now and the showers are supposed to stop so forecast is quite good for the week although going to be cold.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Good Monday, it's morning
Woke to the sound of ice being scraped from car windows.
Sheils, Dad is still using last years bread flour so he has not noticed any change in price yet.
We won't be going far today, short walks and plenty of them will be the plan as it is too cold to be out for long, even at the speed we go.

Morning, We have rain again but the gale-force winds have gone. I had to tidy the back garden yesterday as everything got blown around. Even the burner was halfway up the garden. It's cold here but not as cold as it is where you are Duncan. I think your dad is wise only going out for shorter walks.
Glad your family could join you for Christmas dinner sheils.
Hope you got to speak to your GK's over Christmas leanfun.
We have a Lidl in walking distance that had 2 aisles in tier 2 and 2 in 4. Mind you now everywhere down here is in tier 4 it's the same for all the aisles there, lol
We had a quiet Christmas and boxing day and sent a dinner round for son's GF's nan who lives round the corner. She was going to hull to spend Christmas with her sister but being in tier 4 she couldn't so decide to spend Christmas on her own. Let's hope next Christmas will be back to normal, whatever that is.
Have a good day

Good Morning all. It's been a very long time since I have comped and written here, maybe 2 years? Lots of things happened , We moved from the town Rochester to a tiny little village , where the kids play out on the roads still as its pretty rare to see a car . I work at the local school as a "General assistant" total amount of children on roll including surplus from 2 other villages 89! Like many I have lots of bad news but I don't want to talk or focus on that, mostly as I haven't processed it yet. I've come off all social media, simply as it wasn't doing my MH any good. I feel so much better for it.
No snow hear but very very cold, I'm taking the boys on a walk to ride his RC car and get some fresh air. Tier 4 here. We where in 3 before.
Hi to Sheils, Leanie and Duncan (We haven't met yet) and take care all xxCompers challenge 27/70
